After SINBAD THE SAILOR that Richard Wallace gave us nearly ten years earlier, I did not expect such a film in 1955, that looks like an Universal Studios vehicle, starring Maria Montez or, concerning the fifties, Piper Laurie, Maureen O'Hara, Yvonne De Carlo co starring Rock Hudson, Jeff Chandler or Tony Curtis...Universal Studios was the company very specialized in such fantasy, one thousand and one nights Arabic tales, certainly not RKO pictures. But the result is pretty good, entertaining, more than any Columbia - Sam Katzman's cheap and lousy stuff such as some William Castle's movies from the 50's and produced by the infamous Katzman.
