"Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers" wasn't quite "Alvin and the Chipmunks," but it did star two cute, squeaky-voiced rodents.
The two chipmunks were voiced by Tress MacNeille (Chip) and Corey Burton (Dale). They were joined by their cheese loving friend, Monterey Jack (voiced by Jim Cummings and Peter Cullen). Monterey Jack loved cheese so much that he would fall into a trance and literally float whenever the scent of cheese was nearby.
As the title states, they were in the rescuing business. It was really more of a detective agency that led them on all kinds of adventures. The show didn't last too long. Maybe people thought that having two chipmunk shows was one too many.
