This film had my stomach in knots which felt like Zac Efron's overdeveloped abs in the film the entire film. Loved the 70's Kodachrome colors. Zac Efron gave a terrific performance. A masterpiece on toxic masculinity. I was so relieved when-spoiler alert- he finally choked his controlling, narcissistic dad. I remember wrestling was huge around this time but had forgotten this story. My grandma and my dad used to watch wrestling. I thought it was all show and didnt like them seeing getting beaten up. Very tough to watch. My daughter, a Gen Z huge Zac Efron fan since High School Musical cried her eyes out aat the end and I was in tears too. A good old fashioned emo drama. Im glad at the end that there was redemption.
