At the beginning of Argylle, I was a little unclear on what was happening, so let me clean it up before you watch it. Bryce Dallas Howard and Sam Rockwell's characters live in the "real world" of the movie, where BDH fantasizes about Henry Cavill as agent Argylle in an imaginary world (unfortunately, Henry Cavill doesn't get much screen time).
When I was first watching Argylle, I was a little disappointing (the oil skating scene was hard to watch). But luckily, it was the kind of movie that grows on you and gets much better on your second viewing. My biggest knock on it was the 2 hour 19 minute runtime. There was a lot of dry time, and the film felt overly extended. Argylle is a true popcorn movie with its highs, but more lows than most people would prefer.
