HOW NOT TO HONEYMOON?
15 May 2024
Of course, nothing will ever top Steve and Barbara's goofy honeymoon, but... Chip and Polly have their "moments" in this very clever episode.

Writer George Tibbles was at it again, lots of imagination, and --of all things -- he put Chip and Polly in the same Mexican hotel where Steve and Barbara stayed. What a trip, again with shades of LOVE, AMERICAN STYLE. The hilarious catch to all this, the hotel is now a "singles" establishment, so that means newlyweds Chip and Polly may have to GO IT ALONE -- and stay in separate rooms. Are you serious?

Creative writing 101.

What also puts this classic episode over the top are some fine supporting actors. Veteran Spanish actor Remo Pisani, who retired not too long after this episode, plays Pepe. Remo appeared a lot on BONANZA. Also look for Natividad Vacio as Paco, veteran of many classic films and tv shows. You always recognized his face, but never knew his name.

Two well known juvenile actors guest star; Veronica Cartwright, plays Ruth, known for THE BIRDS, and Bobby Diamond, who co-starred on the 50s series, FURY. At around the time this episode was filmed, Bobby was studying to be a criminal lawyer, and got his license in 1971. Bobby passed in 2019.

A must see for Chip and Polly, who make a cute couple. They really do. SEASON 11 EPISODE 8 remastered color. Thanks METV for this super episode.
