Eve's Daughter (1918) -- Lost Film ?
PamelaShort30 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Irene Simpson-Bates ( Billie Burke ) after the death of her father, a tyrannical millionaire, the rebellious young heir decides to have a fling with her relatively meager inheritance of $15,000. Leaving her rather straitlaced, but poor sweetheart, John Norton ( Thomas Meighan ) behind, Irene goes to New York, where she falls under the spell of the disreputable Courtenay Urquhart ( Lionel Atwill ). Although he has no intention of actually marrying Irene, Urquhart persuades her to elope with him and signs them into a hotel as man and wife. John, determined to save the woman he loves, tricks Urquhart into believing that his British uncle has just left him a large inheritance, and he immediately sails for England. Irene, her reputation as yet unsullied, gratefully goes back to John.

This 1918 drama/comedy was directed by James Kirkwood for the Famous Players-Lasky Corporation. It starred theatre actress Billie Burke and popular leading man of silent films, Thomas Meighan. Unfortunately, it now remains a lost silent film.
