Three Sailors and a Dirt blonde?
cynthiahost25 May 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Miss Anders hair is Dirt blonde cause it's dark in the film.I got her confused with Charlott Duadert, the actress who played dumb blonde's in Nazi propaganda films. This film was produced in the first year of the Nazi Dictatorship. It must been the early part cause the German flag on the beach and the German flag on the ship does not have a criss cross. It's very Weimarish. This could have been produced in the United by Paramount starring Richard Arlen Cary Grant Wallce Berry, on loan to Paramount, starring Carol Lombard as the Blond, directed by Dorothey Aznour. That how this movie is.Its Three sailors on shore leave.Heinz Ruhmann as Cadet Heine , his best friend Willy , played by Friederich Benfer.First mate,I think? Hannes, played by Frtiz Camper, who visits his mother mainly, played by Sophie Pagay, who complains to him not finding a wife yet. Will And Hiene go to a special Dance hall for sailors , on the beaches of Berlin,Where all the public domain waltz and March music, like "Man on the flying trapeze", are played so that the film produces Carl Boese didn't have Io pay copyright fees to play current hot jazz music of the time. Willy has his way about women. It's easier for him to ask a women to dance with him Poor Heini is too shy and doesn't know how to approach them. Hannes, when he finally goes to the dance hall, don't know much about women neither cause he tries to propose to them immediately also. The blonde, whom all the three sailors have their eyes on? Ilse Schroder, played by dark blonde Charlott Anders, who's a professional photographer and owns a building and home on the beach, where you see the normal German flag ,at the moment. She's at the dance hall too,I don't know if she's looking for a husband. She is chaperon by her 12 year old Brother Frtiz, played by a young Hans Richter, whom fortunately never was called to the easter front,I don't think so?Willy gets to together with Ilse, but he's too fast for her.Later another shore leave after Heine learns how to ask the women to dance, with the help of Willy, He meets Ilse and they hit it off, this time Frtiz is dressed up in a sailor uniform chaperoned her,I can't believe that there is not another place to go at the beach. She takes him to her photo shop and have's a picture of herself taken to give him. When Willy finds out both he and Hiene have a fight about it .Unitl Hiene is left in a dummy ship for maneuvers, they both make up.She ends up with Hannes who proposes to her.Since this was released in 1936 in the United States,I am wondering was this plot adapted from this movie for the 1945 Ships Ahoy or maybe this is a typical plot in movie making. There was Follow the fleet in 1936 The now lost r.k.o musical the Fleet in ,1930.although it does not have no subtitles a commercial selling pens, in black and white, for German theaters or t.v.? was added as an extra attraction.Avialble in the U.S. in a digital print at Germanwarfilms.com 05/25/12
