Who? What? I Don't Know...
nammage2 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Found this on Tubitv. Four minutes long and has Dorothy Lamour introducing Abbott and Costello on NBC Radio performing "Who's on First?". I remember hearing this skit as a kid and hearing and seeing the original skit was humorous and nostalgic. Hard to find gem, but worth looking for, originally from 1944, I believe. Also, shows the difference in verbiage used between radio and film; at the end even a word considered an expletive today is used a couple of times. Still enjoyable all these years later.

This was a filmed version of Abbott & Costello's "Who's on First" that ends with Costello saying a certain word

What I'm reviewing here is a performance of Abbott & Costello doing a radio appearance for the armed forces during World War II. When I first saw this on VHS 30 years ago, it was just introed by an announcer telling of mailed requests of which one of those was of the comedy team performing their classic routine "Who's on First". What I just watched online had Dorothy Lamour introing them before they go through most of the familiar lines but with one big difference: Costello says a word that you couldn't say on mainstream broadcast at the time but that would change a couple of decades later and Abbott looks positively shocked when he says it! So if you ever get a chance, I recommend this version of their most famous routine...
