Muddled plot but visually attractive
dinky-421 December 2002
Several factions seem to be fighting for control of a Middle Eastern kingdom and leading-man Robert Hoffmann seems to be involved in playing them off against each other for reasons which are never quite clear, though they seem to hinge on his affection for the Princess Yasmin. But this isn't a movie that you watch for the plot. Instead, soak up the Middle Eastern atmosphere and admire some of the sun-drenched desertscapes and lose yourselves in the blue-blue eyes of Austrian-born Robert Hoffmann and leading-lady Marilu Tolo.

Fans of male bondage will enjoy a scene, midway through the movie, in which Hoffmann and two of his Arab colleagues are shown bound to a horizontal pole and whipped across their bare backs.

Fans of 1960s' pop art will enjoy the opening credits.
