Rob Zombie has said that for every one film project of his that moves forward, there are five potential projects that fall by the wayside. We haven’t heard of quite that many unmade Rob Zombie movies, but we have heard of several over the years that never got off the ground… and unfortunately, most of them sounded pretty interesting. A little over a year ago, Zombie had said he didn’t know what his next movie is going to be, but he did know what it’s not going to be: he won’t be continuing his Firefly franchise, and he doesn’t want to make a sequel to The Munsters (which was poorly received). So while he figures out his next cinematic move, we we have put together a list of Rob Zombie Movies We Want To See!

Many of our most iconic slasher/exploitation films of old are in fact Canadian and were born out of the Canadian Government tax incentives that were available from 1975 to 1982. I'm talking gems like Black Christmas, Terror Train, Happy Birthday To Me, My Bloody Valentine, Visiting Hours, Prom Night, The Brood, Scanners, Shivers, Ilsa She Wolf Of The SS and the list goes on! And…...

Dyanne Thorne, who starred as a wicked soldier of fortune in the Naziploitation film Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS and a pair of sequels, has died. She was 83.
Thorne died Jan. 28 of pancreatic cancer while in hospice care in Las Vegas, Howard Maurer, her husband of 44 years and frequent co-star, told The Hollywood Reporter.
After a turn as the Fairy Godmother in the X-rated Pinocchio (1971), Thorne portrayed a warden in a Nazi concentration camp in the waning days of World War II in the lurid She Wolf of the SS (1975), directed by Don Edmonds.

Hey, well, Nazisploitation. Like a festering cold sore on a sordid decade, these women-and-men-tortured-in-concentration-camps romps flooded the market after the surprise success of Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS (1975), with Italy leading the way in tribute. Now, I’ve thus far only skimmed the surface of a genre I’m none too keen to dive into; that’s where Severin Films comes in, to hold a newbie’s hand and make sure he survives all the grime. The Beast in Heat (1977) certainly has the grime angle covered (and then some) in Severin’s new Blu-ray; softer sensibilities are warned to stay far, far away.

Stars: Patrizia Gori, Malisa Longo, Richard Allan, Dominique Aveline, Alban Ceray, Jacques Marbeuf, Jean Cherlian, Claude Janna, Olivier Mathot, Carmelo Petix | Written by H.L. Rostaine | Directed by Patrice Rohmm
Initially in charge of propaganda within an oppressive South African government, Helga (Malisa Longo) is demoted to being in charge of looking after a group of recently captured rebel female prisoners. She rules Chateau Stilberg with an iron fist whilst having an insatiable appetite for both prisoners and soldiers alike. Unfortunately for her, not all the prisoners want to play along and this naturally frustrates Helga on a regular basis. One of the prisoners under her watchful eye is the spunky and feisty Elisabeth Vogel (Patrizia Gori), daughter of a leftist lawyer who is seemingly the government’s biggest enemy and prime target. When Helga discovers this, she naturally intends to use young Elisabeth as bait, but eventually starts to fall for her.

On July 26th, fans of Pierre De Moro’s film can take as many visual trips to Ashland Sanitarium as their little hearts can manage with Scream Factory’s Blu-ray / DVD release of Hellhole (1985). Do a brief stint there now, if you dare, with two Blu-ray clips and the official trailer for the film courtesy of Scream Factory.
Hellhole Blu-ray: “Having witnessed her mother’s brutal death, Susan (Judy Landers, Dr. Alien) gets amnesia from a fall while being pursued by the killer, Silk (Ray Sharkey, The Idolmaker). Awakening in Ashland Sanitarium, she is once again terrorized by Silk, disguised as an orderly. To pry an incriminating secret from Susan’s brain, Silk forms an uneasy alliance with Dr. Fletcher (Mary Woronov, Rock ‘n’ Roll High School), a psychotic scientist who has been testing a new lobotomy technique, using helpless inmates as her guinea pigs. These vicious experiments are carried out in the “Hellhole,...

The Cut-throats
(1969, dir: John Hayes)
“…A Blood Bath! Filled With Men and Women Obsessed With Death…”
We are thrown straight in to Nazi Germany (well, looks more like the American desert than the lush forests of Germany, but I won’t be That guy!) at the close of the war. After we witness one of those pesky Krauts taking an advantage of a rather attractive blonde haired citizen, played by an uncredited Sandy Carey (Deep Jaws), we are introduced to our heroes, an elite squad of American soldiers dubbed “The Cut-Throats”. They have been hand picked and are lead by the strict and rough Captain Franklin, played by E.J. Walsh (in his only role unfortunately). His mission for the group is to infiltrate a nearby Nazi occupied resort to steal plans as well as leaving no Nazi soldier left alive (who needs the Geneva Convention!?). However, he has much more seedier and greedier intentions.

What could possibly connect the dots between early seventies softcore sexploitation, mid-seventies blaxploitation, and late-seventies giallo horror? Between cult B-flick hellcats Laurene Landon, Mamie Van Doren and Dyanne Thorne (Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS), and the lofty laureled likes of Orson Welles and Rex Harrison? If there is one thing I have learned about cinema through the years is that it caters for every taste and niche. This is particularly a great thing if you are into cult cinema – there are endless avenues for you to go down and explore. Sometimes sub genres can really capture your imagination and a mini obsession can begin. I openly admit to being fascinated by zombies and cannibal movies. And Mondo movies too – I like my shockumentaries.
Sub genres usually tend to be a trend. Most of them do not have a long life cycle. They start off with a flurry of activity – fresh ideas, new concepts and then they sink into plagiarism, ripping each other off and resorting to desperate tactics to catch a saturated market’s eye. Just how far can they go? Can you out-nasty Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS? Can you out-gore Human Centipede 2: Final Sequence?...

By the 1980s, the glory days of the movie grindhouse were over. Rising real estate values and rents, and urban renewal ate away at the grindhouse circuit, and down the houses came, one seedy, sticky-floored theater after another.
But even though the grindhouses died out, grindhouse cinema didn’t die with it. Like some sort of adaptive mutation, it found a new way to live in the reconfiguring terrain of 1980s movie exhibition which provided every consumer with the ability to create an individually-programmed grindhouse in his/her very own living room.
The first commercially successful Vcr was introduced to the American buying public in 1975, the same year HBO became the first nationally-available pay-tv service. By the end of the decade, a few major studios had formed “home entertainment” divisions for the purpose of producing videocassettes of their theatrical features for the home market. Within a few years, the home video business was booming,...

Who knew that the Nazis -- one of the most brutal regimes in the history of brutal regimes -- would be responsible for such fun, mind-blowingly awesome entertainment? The second I see a dude in a grey German uniform and an eye patch enter the frame, I’m like ‘Whoa. That Nazi is going to provide me a great amount of entertainment this evening’. So, with Inglorious Bastards having recently premiered at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival, I figured I'd put together a list of some awesome WW2 films as a resource for anyone wanting to beef up their WW2 film knowledge before checking out Tarantino's self-proclaimed 'masterpiece'. It's worth noting that I focused on older films -- pre-1980 for the most part -- and only the stories featuring Nazi's. It was tough to cut this down to 15 films, but I'm sure you all will be able to come up with...
