Storyline
Plot Summary |
Two low-level government employees, Emmitt Fitz-Hume (played by Chevy Chase) and Austin Milbarge (Dan Aykroyd), are chosen for a top-secret CIA mission. They are unsuitable as CIA agents but are deliberately chosen for this reason, as their mission is a decoy one and they are expendable. After being fast-tracked through training they are parachuted into Pakistan where all manner of adventures await them. Written by grantss |

Did You Know?
Trivia | The film originally ended with the destruction of the world, but test audiences didn't like it, so a new, happier ending was shot on a soundstage in Burbank. See more » |
Goofs | When Fitz-Hume throws the live grenade back into its box and the Russians notice, two seconds before they scream you can hear a faint leading echo of that scream. This is due to use of spooled analog magnetic tape when magnetic state on one layer of tape in the spool influences the state of another. It is most noticeable after long silences like this scene. This flaw survives uncorrected even to HD versions shown on cable. See more » |
Movie Connections | Featured in Barry Manilow/Chevy Chase & Dan Aykroyd/David Letterman (1985). See more » |

Crazy Credits | In the end credits, Bob Hope's name appears on screen and then after a few seconds an exclamation mark is added. See more » |
Quotes |
Russian Interregator #2:
Every minute you don't tell us why you are here, I cut off a finger. Emmett Fitz-Hume: Mine or yours? Russian Interregator #2: Yours. Emmett Fitz-Hume: Damn! See more » |
