'Ginny and Georgia' trailer is out now.
Netflix dropped the official trailer for the upcoming mother-daughter drama series 'Ginny and Georgia' and it gives creepy 'Gilmore Girls' vibes.
The ten-episode series revolves around dynamic mother-daughter duo Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and Georgia Miller (Brianne Howey) as the titular characters who move to a New England town to enjoy a normal life. However, things don't exactly go as planned as Georgia's checkered past seems determined to catch up with them, per Mashable.
The official synopsis for 'Ginny and Georgia' is as follows: "Angsty and awkward Ginny Miller often feels she doesn't measure up to her mother, the irresistible and dynamic Georgia Miller."
"Growing up on the move, Georgia desperately wants to put down roots in picturesque New England and give her family something they've never had…a normal life. But it's not all carpool and Kombucha as Georgia's past follows them to...

Netflix dropped the trailer for “Ginny & Georgia” Tuesday, its coming-of-age TV series that follows a mother and daughter who both have some growing up to do.
In the video, which you can view here and above, young mother Georgia Miller (Brianne Howey) walks into her teenage daughter’s, Ginny (Antonia Gentry), room to show her a new shirt she’s bought her. Ginny is not a fan and groans over the selection, “Gross.” Georgia is shocked to find her tastes don’t match her daughter’s, “This is the new thing you’re doing now? Hate on mom? Come on! This is nice. We’re like the ‘Gilmore Girls’ — but with bigger boobs.”
Here’s the official description for “Ginny & Georgia”:

Spectrum Films has assumed management of Definition Films’ post-production facility at Fox Studios.
The deal for the site comes as Definition Films founder David Gross turns his focus to showrunning; he is set to helm IMAX feature docs and premium factual via the recently announced MGM/K2 Studios partnership.
The Definition Films facility, located in building 53A on the lot, hosts a Dolby Atmos sound mixing theatre with 2D and 3D laser projection, a premium 4K Di grading theatre, a Dolby Vision Hdr finishing room, and five additional multi-purpose suites.
The 4K Di grading theatre.
Recent projects completed there include full picture and sound services on The King and Little Monsters, and the final mix for Leah Purcell’s The Drovers Wife: The Legend of Molly Johnson.

November is here, and as well as signalling that we’re mercifully entering the final stretch of 2020, Netflix have added a ton of new content to their library. Now that Halloween is behind us, the focus has moved firmly away from scaring subscribers out of their seats to giving them warm and fuzzy feelings inside, as the barrage of inevitable Christmas titles begin to roll out.

November is among the least respected months on the calendar. Falling between objectively the two best holidays, November is usually all about recovering from the spookies of Halloween while getting ready for the good vibes the holiday season. For its new releases of November 2020, Netflix has decided to just go ahead and get Christmas over with.
Netflix has already released a list of all its holiday offerings for November and December, and it’s those holiday offerings that take the most prominence this month. The biggest project of all of these is undoubtedly The Christmas Chronicles 2, which premieres on Nov. 25. In this holiday sequel, Kurt Russell reprises his role as Hot Santa Claus who must save the season once again.
On the non-holiday side of things, Netflix’s Emmy-winning series The Crown returns for season 4 on Nov. 15. And speaking of things that desperately want to win awards, Ron Howard...

Netflix is adding a ton of great titles over the next seven days. From Monday to Sunday, the streaming giant is unleashing some new Halloween-related originals for you to dig into as we approach October 31st, while it’s an usually busy weekend for the site, too, as Sunday marks November 1st, meaning a load of newly licensed movies and shows are being added to Netflix’s library.
Unfortunately, they aren’t bringing us anything fresh on Monday or Thursday, but the rest of the week is well-stocked. As you can see below, Tuesday the 27th delivers three new originals. The highlight of that day’s haul, though, has to be Blood of Zeus, the much-anticipated anime-style series that’s adapting classic Greek myths. Jason O’Mara, Jessica Henwick and Claudia Christian star.

Though we’re now beginning to see life starting to return to at least some sense of normality, a lot of people are still spending much more time at home than usual thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic, and that probably won’t change for a while yet. As such, streaming services are more popular than ever now and thankfully, all of the major players have been delivering the goods when it comes to adding new content.
Of course, Netflix are still the leaders and each and every month they bring us a healthy helping of fresh material that ensures subscribers are kept entertained at all times. Admittedly, the summer was more fruitful in terms of new releases, but there are still a lot of great titles coming down the pipeline as we head into the fall and today, the streaming giant have revealed their November lineup, which you can check out below.

If there’s one thing that a person with Adhd doesn’t often like to do, and a person can go out and ask anyone that has this condition, they do not like to sit still that often. It’s not that they can’t do it, it’s that typically those with Adhd just don’t want to sit still that often since they feel the need to be stimulated and to do something, anything. Premiering at Sundance Film Festival, Abe Forsythe’s Little Monsters sets Lupita Nyong’o, Alexander England, and Josh Gad on a school trip soon to be infested by a zombie outbreak. Packing a great deal of humor to go along with the blood, the film certainly owes a bit to Shaun of the Dead, but is a fun-enough horror-comedy. Ahead of a release in the UK and Ireland this November, the first trailer has now arrrived.
I said in my review, “With only a few moments of action, Forsythe is more keen on seeing the dynamics of his characters play out, particularly in providing a too-obvious arc of redemption for Dave as confronts his own selfishness. With that said, the sight of Lupita Nyong’o singing Shake It Off while playing a ukelele or chopping off zombie heads with a shovel is more than worth the price of admission.”

Months after her breakout horror role in Jordan Peele’s Us, Lupita Nyong’o builds on that momentum with the new trailer for Little Monsters. In the grisly horror-comedy, the actress stars as Miss Caroline, a brave schoolteacher who shields her students from a zombie breakout during a field trip gone awry.
The clip opens with military personnel strategizing how to defeat the undead. “It’s zombies again,” one character intones. “Fast ones or slow ones, sir?” another responds. Luckily for all involved, it’s the slow variety, as the...

Lupita Nyong’o has to deal with zombies, children, and children who are zombies in Little Monsters, a horror-comedy that promises to have plenty of blood, gore, and jokes. I’ve heard mixed things about this film from the festival circuit, but I have to admit: it’s hard to resist a movie where Lupita Nyong’o runs around fighting flesh-hungry […]

Exclusive: Cape (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment) has launched it its third annual Cape Leaders Fellowship, a signature program to propel junior executives to the senior ranks and has unveiled its industry executive partners.
The program continues Cape’s push for inclusion and focuses on the gatekeepers and executives who have the power to greenlight projects. The fellowship is cut from the same cloth as the Cape New Writers Fellowship as it equips the next generation of creative executives with the skills and professional network to break into the VP ranks and beyond. Throughout August, Fellows will participate in evening sessions, intimate breakfasts, networking mixers, and one-on-one mentoring sessions with high-level industry executives.
”If we want to change the stories we see on screen, we must focus on the decision-makers,” said Cape Executive Director Michelle K. Sugihara. “By investing in these talented junior executives today, we are strengthening the...

We’ve got a new Red-Band trailer to share with you for Lupita Nyong’o's zombie horror comedy Little Monsters. I had a chance to see this film at Sundance earlier this year and as I said in my review, this is one of the “silliest, most adorable, blood drenched, and vulgar zombie movies that I’ve seen.”
The story follows Dave (Alexander England), “a washed-up musician who volunteers to chaperone his nephew’s kindergarten class field trip after taking a serious liking to the fearless schoolteacher, Miss Caroline (Nyong’o). Dave’s intentions are complicated by the presence of the world’s most famous kids’ show personality and competition for Miss Caroline’s affections, Teddy McGiggle (Josh Gad). One thing none of them bargained for, however, is a sudden zombie outbreak. Will Dave rise to the occasion and have a chance at Miss Caroline’s heart, or will the zombies get there first?...

Lupita Nyong’o isn’t going to let a few zombies ruin her class trip.
The Oscar winner, 36, stars as Miss Caroline in the comedy Little Monsters, which finds her suddenly in charge of her kindergarten class as a horde of zombies try their hardest to attack them during a school field trip to a petting zoo.
Luckily they’re slow-moving zombies, but Miss Caroline still has to find a way to keep her kids from getting scared by the man-eating creatures as they hide out.
“Don’t be scared,” Miss Caroline tells the kids in the trailer. “Who remembers how to play tag?...

Lupita Nyong’o might just emerge from 2019 as something of a horror icon. Not only did she headline Jordan Peele‘s horror smash “Us,” but she is also leading Abe Forsythe‘s (following up 2016’s “Down Under“) Sundance horror-comedy “Little Monsters.” Nyong’o’s casting, along with the zom-com premise and the addition of Josh Gad, make this one of the most intriguing prospects of 2019.

In Heather Wixson's 4.5-star Sundance review, she wrote "there’s no doubt in my mind that Little Monsters is poised to be the breakout horror hit of 2019." At Sundance, Hulu and Neon acquired the film for Us distribution, but in the meantime, Altitude Films released the official UK trailer for the movie that shows what happens when zombies invade a kindergarten field trip at the petting zoo.

"My job is to keep them safe!" Altitude Films has released an official UK trailer for the indie zombie horror comedy Little Monsters, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in the Midnight category earlier this year. This wild and crazy zombie comedy is about a teacher and an aimless guy who end up on a field trip to a petting zoo when a zombie outbreak arrives. It also played at the SXSW Film Festival in spring and the Fantasia Film Festival this summer. Lupita Nyong'o stars as the engimatic teacher who fights back to keep her kids safe, along with Alexander England as the tag along Dave, and Josh Gad as an asshole TV personality who freaks out when the zombies arrive. Also with Stephen Peacocke, Kat Stewart, Nadia Townsend, Marshall Napier, Henry Nixon, and Rahel Romahn. I really, really enjoyed this film at Sundance, it's hilarious and dark...

Coming off of a critical and box office smash with Jordan Peele’s “Us,” Lupita Nyong’o isn’t done with the horror genre just yet, but she is giving herself a break by only playing one role in her next film. The Oscar winner next stars in “Little Monsters,” an Australian zombie comedy that’s inching closer to release after its acclaimed premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
Nyong’o plays Miss Caroline, a kindergarten teacher chaperoning a field trip to a petting zoo that just happens to be located next to an army base. When a failed military experiment results in an outbreak of zombies, she has to keep her students alive while simultaneously assuring them that nobody is in danger. She tries to convince them that the zombie invasion is a massive game, and gets them all to play along. Who knew that “‘Shaun of the Dead...

Céline Sciamma’s Cannes Screenplay-winner “Portrait of a Lady on Fire,” an 18th-century lesbian bodice-ripper that scored among the best reviews at the May festival, is a likely candidate for France’s submission for the Best International Feature Oscar. That said, it will face stiff competition for France’s slot from two other Cannes prize-winners, Mati Diop’s “Atlantics” and Ladj Ly’s “Les Misérables.” In any case, Neon will release the film in Los Angeles and New York on December 6, at the height of the awards season.
The theatrical distributor did well at Cannes, beating out Netflix and others on the popular title, partnering with Hulu to acquire North American rights. Neon picked up the eventual Palme d’Or winner, Bong Joon-Ho’s “Parasite,” ahead of the festival; that film is dated October 11. Expect both films to play the fall film festival circuit.

The Melbourne International Film Festival (Miff) has unveiled the first 29 films on its line-up this year, including the world premiere of Good Thing Productions and Passion Pictures’ The Australian Dream which will open the festival August 1.
The documentary, written by Stan Grant and directed by Brit Daniel Gordon, looks at race, identity and belonging from the perspective of former Sydney Swans captain and Indigenous rights activist Adam Goodes, who in 2013 sparked a national conversation about racism after requesting a 13-year-old Collingwood supporter be removed from the ground after calling him an “ape”.
“The Australian Dream is a compelling kickstart both to our festival this year, and to a national conversation,” said Miff artistic director Al Cossar.

Octavia Spencer is taking control.
While it sounds strange to presume that the career of an Oscar-winning actress and producer with over 125 credits is somehow outside of her control, Spencer is taking her sweet-as-pie image and burning it with “Ma.” Well, she’s actually getting it drunk, stalking it, sewing up its lips, and generally terrorizing it, but that’s beside the point.
In the horror thriller, Spencer plays a lonely veterinary aide named Sue Anne who starts partying with a group of high schoolers after they ask her to buy them booze. Sue Anne invites them over to her home, and Ma’s basement quickly becomes the hotspot for teens looking to drink. But as quickly as the fun begins, everything — including Ma — starts to unravel, and eventually the party is over, for everyone.

Universal Pictures has picked up a new sci-fi comedy movie that was pitched to them under the title Miss Universe, but that won’t be the title of the film. ‘Top End Wedding’.
It’s been a quiet start for the year for Australian films at the national box office, particularly compared to last year when Peter Rabbit and Sweet Country were drawing crowds.
However exhibitors are very optimistic about the outlook for the rest of the year, including Wayne Blair’s Top End Wedding which opened yesterday, Rachel Ward’s Palm Beach and Kriv Stenders’ Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan (both August 8) and Rachel Griffiths’ Ride Like a Girl (September 26).
Ten new releases plus holdovers collectively racked up $9.06 million through April 30, according to the Motion Picture Distributors Association of Australia.
That’s way below the first four months of 2018, which generated $32 million, with Will Gluck’s Peter Rabbit making $25.4 million en route to a final total of $26.7 million and Warwick Thornton’s Sweet Country $2 million.
