Ryan Reynolds started the Deadpool franchise in 2016, re-introducing the Merc with the Mouth to the wider audience. After the success of the first movie, Deadpool 2 was released in 2018, with new characters joining the fray – including a very important mutant – Cable, played by Josh Brolin. But Cable’s real identity – his origin – was never clearly defined in the movie.
Josh Brolin as Cable in Deadpool 2
Cable aka Nathan Summers is actually the son of Scott Summers and Jean Grey in the Marvel Comics. Or at least he shares DNA with these two mutants. He gets infected by a techno-organic virus, becaue of which, his parents send him to the future to be cured. It is much later, in Cable Vol. 1 #6, that his real identity finally came to light.
The Origin of Cable’s Identity in the Marvel Comics
Cyclops and Jean Grey are two of the biggest names among the X-Men.

Stan Lee was never afraid to go places with his superheroes like Captain America and Iron Man from his early days at Marvel Comics. This confidence seeped down to every comic writer at the company who often subverted their fan expectation with certain storylines. However, there were several controversial choices that writers had to make, which did not impress the fandom.
Stan Lee’s Marvel Comics made some controversial choices in its decades-long storytelling
Some writers quickly realized their mistakes and figured out a way around them, while others chose to run with their choice to see where it took them. The latter choice either brought them new fans or angered the existing ones.

While Hugh Jackman retired as Wolverine in the 2017 film Logan, he was confirmed to reprise his iconic role in the first X-Men film in the MCU i.e. Deadpool and Wolverine. The character has been one of the most popular X-Men characters in the comics, made more popular by Jackman’s seventeen-year tenure in the Fox Studios X-Men franchise.
Wolverine is famously known for his loner personality. But the immortal regenerative superhero has fathered a number of kids across the multiverse. He reportedly has ten kids alone in the main continuity in the Marvel universe Earth-616. And those children have many times been with other superheroes, making his spawns much more powerful. Here are three who could be introduced in the MCU after Hugh Jackman’s exit after the third Deadpool film (via The Empire Podcast).
3. James Hudson Jr. a.k.a Ultimate Wolverine James Hudson Jr. in Ultimate End Vol.

Since his brief appearance in the 2011 MCU film Thor, Hawkeye has become a staple member of the Avengers, featuring in nearly all of the team’s cinematic outings. Over the years, the character has undergone significant development, diverging from his initial portrayal in the MCU. The 2021 Disney+ series, which delved into the aftermath of Endgame, shed light on the toll his role as an Avenger has taken on him, addressing both mental and physical challenges, along with his use of a hearing aid.
Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye in the MCU
While the series depicted his hearing loss due to the frequent explosions he’s encountered as an Avenger, the comics offer a more harrowing and graphic account of how the superhero sustained this injury. With Marvel Studios now exploring R-rated content with projects like Deadpool 3 and Daredevil: Born Again, there’s an opportunity for the studio to pay homage...

Over 15 years after its release, "The Dark Knight" remains one of the best superhero movies ever made. It's a blockbuster that changed movies forever, helping usher in the era of superhero domination in cinema and legitimizing the genre as more than just popcorn fare. Heath Ledger's posthumous Academy Award win marked the first time a superhero movie had received recognition for its acting at a major awards show, while the movie being snubbed for a Best Picture nod led to the so-called "Dark Knight Rule" (which extended the category's number of nominees from five to 10).
"The Dark Knight" was also the movie that kickstarted Christopher Nolan's love of IMAX, and, all that aside, is just a well-written film with fantastic dialogue that continues to be referenced and parodied to this day. Arguably, however, no line has taken quite on a life of its own quite like Harvey Dent saying,...

The search for one of the more high-profile castings in James Gunn and Peter Safran's new DC Universe is now in its final stages. After last year brought us the news that the new co-CEOs had officially hired David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, and Nicholas Hoult as the newest versions of Superman, Lois Lane, and Lex Luthor, respectively, the trio of actors will soon be joined by one of two popular young actors for the role of Supergirl. Start placing your bets now, folks.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the competition to play Superman's Kryptonian cousin is now down to either Milly Alcock or Meg Donnelly. Both actors reportedly participated in screen tests in Atlanta, Georgia, earlier this week, with both Gunn and Safran in attendance. Alcock, of course, became a breakout star in her role as the younger version of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in HBO's "Game of Thrones" prequel...

Four years have gone by since it was announced that Channing Tatum was teaming up with It producer Roy Lee to develop an adaptation of the Image Comics property The Maxx – and while that would sometimes be enough time to for us to assume a project has fallen by the wayside, apparently that’s not the case here. Tatum has taken to social media to confirm that The Maxx is still in the works, and to express his excitement for the project.
Tatum wrote, “Oh my god I’m so excited for this I can’t even explain. The Maxx!!!! This is a childhood love of mine. The truly brilliant genius creation of Sam Kieth. When I was grounded and wasn’t allowed to watch TV this was the cartoon on MTV’s Oddities I would risk it all for. Sneak out of bed and put it on and pray I didn’t get caught.

This post contains slight spoilers for Marvel's "Hawkeye" and key storylines from Marvel Comics.
Maya Lopez, also known as Echo, is a familiar name for those who witnessed her on-screen debut in "Hawkeye," where she was seen working for Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) before learning the truth about her father's death. Played by Alaqua Cox, Lopez evolved significantly as a character who started with a thirst for revenge but had to contend with some unsavory truths about the people she had sworn allegiance to. Cox is set to reprise her role in the highly-anticipated "Echo," which intends to further explore her story after the events of "Hawkeye," with Fisk's men hounding her as she attempts to reconnect with her roots.
Lopez/Echo is intricately connected to the fates of Kingpin and Charlie Cox's Daredevil, but the upcoming miniseries has the unique opportunity to ground her as an integral...

Where would we be without the good old director's commentary? We certainly wouldn't have Ben Affleck relentlessly mocking "Armageddon" or David Fincher relentlessly mocking Ben Affleck in the "Gone Girl" commentary. I wouldn't have wasted countless hours as a teen learning every intricate detail of how each individual episode of "The Simpsons" came to together, and we wouldn't have had the feature-length apology that was Joel Schumacher's director's commentary for "Batman & Robin."
Of course, these commentary tracks aren't just arenas for filmmakers to make fun of actors and apologize for their blunders. Fincher's commentaries are frequently insightful in a way that a straightforward interview couldn't be. Likewise, Adam McKay has turned the commentary itself into an artform, putting almost as much care into constructing his elaborate audio tracks as he does his films.
But there's one filmmaker who has consistently robbed us of the commentary experience ever...

By Marvel's own estimation, Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was the largest yet. It incorporated seven feature films ("Black Widow" through "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever") and eight seasons of television ("WandaVision" through "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law"). All told, there were more screen hours in Phase 4 than in the previous three phases combined. As of this writing, two additional films have been released as part of Phase 5, the central villain from "Quantumania," is to be the franchise's new time-hopping multiverse antagonist.
In the new book "The Marvel Cinematic Universe An Official Timeline," authored by Anthony Breznican, Amy Ratcliffe, and Rebecca Theodore-Vachon, Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige went on record with a tantalizing thought: some of the extant timelines may "crash" or "converge."

This post contains spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and potential spoilers for Loki season 2.
Loki’s coming back for a second season this October, and he’s bringing one of the weirdest Marvel characters with him. No, I’m not talking about sub-z-list Thor villain Zaniac, whose name appears on a marquee in the trailer. I’m talking about Victor Timely, the variant of Kang the Conquerer revealed in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and featured in the trailer for Loki season two.
We knew that Kang would be a concern for Loki‘s second season after Loki and his variant Sylvie confronted He Who Remains in the season 1 finale. By killing He Who Remains, Sylvie not only allowed the Multiverse to grow unchecked — leading to this next set of MCU movies being dubbed “The Multiverse Saga” — but she also opened the way for more dangerous Variants of He Who Remains.

The future of the Shazam! franchise is pretty murky following the release of Shazam! Fury of the Gods. However, it would be a mistake to exclude the fun-loving DC hero from James Gunn‘s rebooted slate because Shazam brings a much needed value to the DC universe that makes him unique. Shazam! made his debut in Whiz Comics No. 2 back in 1939, and the DC hero was an extremely popular character that outsold Superman and Batman. However, Shazam didn’t make his live-action debut until 2019. On the surface, there wasn’t anything particularly new about Shazam’s story, however, the origins on...

It's safe to say that the cultural influence of the 1966 "Batman" series peaked with the release of the 1966 feature-length spin-off movie. As detailed in "Batman: The Complete History" by Les Daniels, the series was met with declining enthusiasm when returned for a second season and was then canceled by ABC after the third season. Like the concurrently-airing "Star Trek" on NBC, "Batman" was a classic in the making, but cut short for contemporary audiences.
That's not to say the "Batman" team didn't try to save the show. For season 3, they mixed up the formula. To save costs, they cut the two episodes, one-story format -- aired on back-to-back nights -- from previous seasons. This also meant doing away with the trademark comic book-style cliffhangers. However, one innovation meant a budget increase: bringing in a third star alongside Batman (Adam West) and Robin (Burt Ward). That star was Barbara Gordon, daughter...

Los Angeles, March 22 (Ians) Comedian Taylor Tomlinson has sealed a deal with Netflix for her next two standup specials to premiere on the streamer.
Tomlinson is currently touring her latest show, which will tape later this year in Washington, D.C., for a 2024 premiere date, reports ‘Variety’. Her hour-long standup debut, ‘Quarter-Life Crisis’, premiered on the platform in 2020, followed by ‘Look at You’ in 2022.
“That’s a level of security that you don’t get very often in this business,” Tomlinson told ‘Variety’.
“It’s a huge weight off your shoulders… I feel incredibly grateful and lucky.”
Tomlinson noted that her next special will be shot at the end of this current tour (currently dubbed the ‘Have It All Tour’), right around when she’s about to turn 30. And much of her material this time out explores what it’s like to be at that life crossroads where parts of your life are taking off,...
