"EL Verso" is a poignant short story of everyday, unimportant and forgotten poor people, who also are rich in life's dramas and emotions and carry on with their defects and virtues on their backs to realize their miniature dreams. Contrary to the person that commented above, I feel that the characters are well developed, the dramas may seem unimportant to the Hollywood influenced mentalities, but they are solid. The acting is superb, especially Brandoni, Arana, Zabala. The setting is simple and unpretentious, perhaps a bit too "arrabal amargo".
"El verso" is not a masterpiece but any means, but it is a solid small production play-like beautifully acted film.
