Richard Mailer's ONE LAST FLING is a poorly told tale of a guy who finds out he has only a short time to live. It's about as bad as the unrelated Carlos Tobalina stinker HER LAST FLING, tackling the same subject from a femme point of view.
Tony Richards is unimpressive as the hapless hero, having a heart attack in the opening scene and given just 6 months to live. He's an Olympic marathon runner in training so this is really a hard sentence for him to take.
Film fully falls apart early on when after a few sex scenes, Tony tells his buddy Jamie Gillis of his woes, and Gillis' improvised reaction merely proves what an overrated "actor" he is, according to the fans. After more or less laughing at his buddy's plight he ends up giving him plenty of bad advice.
To live it up Tony makes it with Ultra Max who is truly unappealing as styled here. Part of Jamie's advice is for Tony to drop his girlfriend abruptly (supposedly that will be better for her in the long run) and of course this comes off as callous. Even worse Gillis ends up humping Tony's girl.
Tony arrives and catches them in the act, clutches his chest as if performing in a Silent Era movie, and suffers a fatal heart attack in Mailer's insulting ending, accompanied by the theme music from the Olympic Games. A truly terrible film.
