Another "tear-jerking" story of a poor but honest man that loves a rich man's daughter. As always, the "mean rich father" finds a way to separate them but honesty and love prevail at the end (what a big surprise!). You can find exactly the same story in douzens of films in its era.
Papamichael and Kalogeropolulou both were great performers (the former passed away recently), but the film just don't meet their standards. The "mean rich father" (an archetype for the Greek cinema at the time, when most of the population were straggling lower middle class) is actually among the best performances in the film and the legendary Sapfo Notara maybe overdoes it with her "piece of her mind" conversation with the aforementioned.
However, the film maybe an eye candy for the younger aidience, given the fact I loved it when I first saw it at age 8.
