A very pleasing picture of a manly little ragamuffin, "Freckles" (Roy Clark), who, when very, very hungry, is caught stealing a loaf of bread and out on "probation" by the judge, who also sees that he is given "a chance." Just as he is making good, an unlucky train of circumstances makes it seem as though he had committed a theft, and from his benefactor, the acting of Roy puts this over with a punch. The picture closes when it is all straightened out. Edward Hungerford, the author, did a good piece of writing in it and Fred Huntly has produced it naturally and made an excellent offering of it. All the players help out by skillful work in their parts. - The Moving Picture World, November 22, 1913
