Memorable stuff
Idefix-710 January 1999
The only in form recording of who's been called several times "one of the most underrated artists of our times" while it was still her and her piano on stage(now she's recording with a full band). The beauty and simplicity of her performance in such silent but cathartic gems such as the a capella version of Me & A Gun or the outstanding duet with Tool's Maynard and at other times intensely vibrant and loud such as Cornflake Girl or Caught A Lite Sneeze are worth the buying. Tori Amos has paved the way to what is now a market full of female composers that are making much more profit than her(even Alanis Morissette said she listened to Tori Amos' highly acclaimed album Little Earthquakes during her Jagged Little Pill sessions).

Breathtaking, Astounding and that stuff

Up to the point in time I am writing from, I am yet to experience a Tori Amos concert in person. But this feature is easily the next best thing. Tori performs perfectly to an incredibly appreciative crowd by offering up some of her most beautiful, haunting, touching and powerful songs like "Caught A Lite Sneeze", "Leather", "little Amsterdam", "Cornflake Girl" and many others, she even included the techno-ish backing when performing "Talula".

Accompanying Tori in this concert are Steve Caton on guitar (whatever happened to him, why doesn't he play for/with her anymore?) and includes a guest appearance from Tool's Maynard James Keenan.

Of course the most breathtaking moments are during performances of "Silent All These Years" and "Me and a Gun" which are perfectly fitting given that the show was a fundraising benefit for the RAINN organization that Tori co-founded.

This is one of my few 10/10 highly recommended picks

Tori Amos... Need I say more?
JJenkins9 December 1998
Well, she's done it. This is the best live performance that is recorded I have ever seen of Tori. She's playing some of her best hits including a remix of "Cornflake Girl" accompanied by a rather amusing dance.

As a performer, she's really stealing the show with this one.

Brilliant

I don't quite know how to put a Tori Amos concert into words. After watching this concert, I didn't think she could get any better, yet she proves us all wrong. She is quite possibly the best live act to ever live and I can say that after being to a concert and being a true fan of hers for years now. This concert just proves my point, here she performs with all her heart, allowing the audience to get inside and feel what she herself is feeling. This concert is very heartbreaking, she plays and sings so well that her audience can understand, with Me& A Gun, Tori allows us inside herself and her experiences and it is truly amazing. No matter how many times I listen to the songs, or watch this concert, I still cry. She is truly a gifted songwriter, singer and performer.

Absolutely best Tori live performance of all times.
twilight-331952 December 2018
No wonder that the overall rating is so high, and I was honestly shocked to see that only one review posted is negative.

It is - and it comes from a Tori fan for many, many years - Tori in pinnacle of her form, expression, and creativity. The sole fact that this performance was released only in VHS - still lacking HD or at least DVD-quality release (to the sorrow of fans) is a crime in itself.

In any case, if you haven't watched it yet - you're about to get a world of joy. Just be sure to have spare 90+ minutes - it is one of those recordings that make it almost impossible to stop watching, or "skip" tracks.

Tori rules
Bigs13 February 1999
Since I've only a few minutes before I must depart I'll just say this,

Tori is the best! This concert was brill. She held me captive the whole time. She was fantastic, Tori's little jig included. Just buy the video for that alone.

The video is shot well with no dodgy angles or naff editing. Good close ups on Tori. Her true personality shines through.

The Amazing Tori Amos Strikes Again
ciccone416 December 1999
Give it up for the deliciously daring and musically brilliant Tori Amos, who serves up a mixture of revenge, thought, beauty, sadness, religion, and more all rolled up into one 17-track bonanza of sound. Using classic songs from her first three albums (Little Earthquakes, Under the Pink, and Boys for Pele), Tori performs with ease and she's always ready for a clever turn of phrase. Unforgettable performances include those of "Silent all these years", "Pretty good year", "Leather", "The waitress", "Cornflake girl", and the always haunting "Me and a gun". Believe me, the reason she's so much fun to watch is because she's having fun too.

A beautiful, emotional performance.
Torifan11 September 1999
In Live From New York, The benefit for RAINN, Tori gave a wonderful, soul wrenching performance. This was during a rough patch in Tori's life. The dance she does before Cornflake Girl is very sad, and other highlights include a version of Muhammed My Friend, with Maynard from Tool. Tori also pours all her being into an incredibly heartbreaking version of Little Earthquakes.

The complete version of 97's RAINN benefit concert in NY
talutis21 December 1998
The aforementioned brings a nice closing to the Dew Drop Inn tour, for Tori performed unplugged versions of "Marianne," "Cornflake Girl," and "Horses." She also teams up with long-time band-mate Steve Caton and does a duet with friend and lead singer of Tool, Maynard James Keenan--probably my favorite moment in the video 'cause they achieve a beautiful harmony to an unplugged "Mohammed, My Friend." For all of you Ears with Feet out there, this is a must-see!

Worst recorded Tori performance ever
tyger7814 April 2002
This is probably the worst Tori Amos performance I have ever seen. I have seen her live 3 times, and most of her televised performances including her appearances on MTV Unplugged, Hard Rock Live, and PBS. Most of the originals have improvised sections. As a Zeppelin fan I am all for improvisation as long as it adds to, while improving the song. However, her improvisations here do neither. She sings off key on occasion, and the performance seems a little forced. If you want good live Tori get a copy of her performance on Hard Rock Live. Rating: 4/10.
