Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • A little boy is beat and whipped repeatedly from different people throughout the film. His screams and agony may frighten small children.
  • A little boy is teased and hit by other little boys, but this is quite minor.
  • A man slaps another man's cheek.
  • The same man slapped before is hit with a small purse (this is quite amusing, however, due to the kind of person that he is).
  • There are other scenes of dead people, but they look as if they are sleeping (they have just died). One man that is dead has his eyes open, however, and this may frighten some viewers.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • There is talk of someone using cigars.
  • Wine is served at feasts.
  • One lady is refered to as 'drunk', as she is sleeping lazily.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The whole story revolves around one little boy who grows up a kind gentleman. He has had many hardships, and looses most of his family. He is beat and whipped (refer to the above "Violence/Gore").
  • Many dead people are shown. Most die of childbirth or disease. Some men have drowned, and their bodies are pale. This may distrub younger viewers.
  • A man's best friend is carried from the sea (from the aboved men described drowning), and he is dead. This is very heartbreaking to many viewers.
  • The same man's wife dies, and this is a very sweet and intense scene. It may disappoint many viewers.
  • There are many other scenes of disappointment and regret, mostly are revolving around deaths and hardships.
