Sex & Nudity

  • Some episodes have very mild relationships and flirting, but nothing harmful.

Violence & Gore

  • Contains scenes of children enduring bullying, mistreatment and beating throughout.
  • Several children fight in some episodes throughout. Mostly a bunch of chimney sweeps called the Black Brothers vs. a gang called The Wolf Pack. Rarely adults are involved, depending on situations.
  • Very few episodes have characters using knife as a weapon, but nobody gets hurt with such object.
  • Some episodes have characters talking about death, and characters who been killed.
  • Characters are shown with bruises, often after beating.

Profanity

  • Some episodes can have mild language, like insulting by names and a few mild swearings. This may depend on you watch it in original Japanese language or any other dub.
  • In one episode, a man describes the evil man's eyes similar to Satan, the devil. It was evidenced in the Filipino dub.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Marcello Rossi occasionally buys alcohol (like wine) at a bar and becomes drunk.
  • Some characters smoke.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Luini, also called God of Death, can be frightening for some children. He is a character who buys children from families to have them sold as chimney sweeps. It has been said that all children who've been taken to Milan haven't come back alive prior to this series' story.
  • Children are seen enduring bullying and mistreatment, some scenes which can be little intense for some very young kids.

Violence & Gore

  • Much later in the series, a boy is revealed to have a sickness that involves coughing blood. He later dies by the disease.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The death of a main character much later in the series can be emotionally sad.
  • Some flashback scenes later in the series have it implied a main character's parents have been killed inside a burning mansion.
  • The scene in which Angeletta has to be separated from Romeo to go to Paris to be treated for her heart illness, can be emotionally sad for some, especially since her fate is never revealed after that.
