A musical comedy/drama starring the popular Mexican singer, Vicente Fernández. he plays a man nick-named "El Diablo" (the devil) who makes a living fighting roosters.
In one of the towns he stops by to earn some money , he meets and falls in love with a beautiful girl named, 'Maria'. Played by the teen idol of Mexico back then, Angélica María.
Problem is she is about to enter the monastery and become a nun! And this causes a few laughs because of that situation.
The "great Granny of Mexico", Sara Garcia plays the head nun, 'Sol Lucero' who knows true love when she sees it and tries to help the couple out in her own special way.
The tall, handsome Rogelio Guerra offers Vincente some competition for Maria's affection and in the cock-fights also.
All in all a simple musical tale with ample songs for the two leads to sing. Vincente was still young and somewhat handsome enough back then to get away with this type of role still.
A family friendly film for the family.
