Good softcore comedy, but which becomes less good as camp advances
guisreis9 March 2022
Good softcore film about a Toquinho (André de Biase), womanizer surfer from the outskirsts of Rio de Janeiro who abandons his girlfriend (very beautiful Angelina Muniz!) and prostitutes himself (initially with rich gay character well played by Paulo Villaça) aiming to live as an upper class boy and eventually move to Hawaii. I liked a lot the testimonies in a mockumentary-style with all other characters pretending in the future not knowing Toquinho. Even the more charicature-like scenes, such as the ones with the families of Toquinho and Patrícia (the rich beach girl he has a new affair with), and the one with gorgeous Selma Egrei and Gracinda Freire, are nice, exploring a comedy of manners and class expectations in an unequal town. Indeed, the films becomes increasingly an unrealistic comedy, and less a drama, while lifeguard and ruffian Das Bocas (played by Roberto Bonfim) becomes less menacing and more comic. However, the end is much worse than the beginning in my opinion (I would certainly finish the story through another path), but the novie is nice, anyway.
