Maybe a drama, maybe a report but no crime film
leidtj29 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
A young boy, son to a GDR police officer, cares very much about the families' dog, a German shepherd called "Olf". When his father tells him the news, that "Olf" should enter the police dog squad, the young boy fears to loose his only friend and tries to hide the dog away. Soon found, the other two thirds of the film show on the example of "Olf" how police dogs support(ed) criminal investigations (in the German Democratic Republic): Different from other "Polizeiruf 110" episodes, "Unsichtbare Fährten" ("Invisible Tracks") has almost no crime film elements and can be seen more as an report on police dogs' work in the GDR "Volkspolizei"...
