Into the moral zone
sudhakaranakhilan27 April 2020
First of all, I must applause for the brilliant performance of 'Nadigavel' M.R.Radha and we can't discuss the film apart from his strong performance. A division between two slots of life and it portrayed so nicely. M.R.Radha was bravely done those two sections accurately with sheer perseverance. The subject has some angle on the moral side of society and propagates the Tamilian culture thoroughly. Opened with the 'notorious' foreign derivation along with English conversations and mannerisms and then take a deep blend towards the mother country and culture. It is something a fully emotional depiction on one side and indirectly the film took us to a moralistic and melodramatic zone level.

M R Radha rocks...
elametly15 June 2009
MR Radha, one of the finest actors of tamil cine industry, shines with his trademark dialogue delivery, body language and excellent acting.I wonder how he did this role in 1950s.Vivek copied his style of comedy and became a big comedy actor in 2000s.But MR radha did it a long time ago.Don't know why he didn't act in main roles in his further films.I heard he won't mug-up any dialogues, he will speak whatever comes in his mind. What a brilliance?.See the film you will understand about him. Even if you see this film 50 years later you will burst-out with laughter.Though many films became hit, only a few films will remain in mind for a long period, this is certainly one of them.

Watch it when you feel bore, then you will become tired (of laughing).

The King in action
chembai8 January 2002
The King of Melodrama, M R Radha, stars in this all-time great tale of an arrogant man who loses his life to leprosy. Though outdated, the film hold your attention with the help of Radha's stylistic portrayal of a westernised rich man who finally realises his mistakes. Also unforgettable for its songs and radical (for its time) finale.
