This is a film sponsored by the National Film Board of Canada. It tells a nice heart-warming story about a child who finds an injured goose and nurses it back to heath. Not unexpectedly, the day eventually comes when the goose is healthy enough that it rejoins the flock. Later, in a poignant moment, the boy and goose are briefly reunited.
The film has decent, though not outstanding animation. However, what is outstanding is how well this very simple story was handled--using this simple animation and combining it with excellent music along with a nice delicate touch. The result is a film even grouchy people will probably enjoy and it teaches some nice moral lessons to kids who see it. Fortunately, it does not become saccharine in doing so but tells the tale simply and effectively.
