I'm going to cut right to the chase and tell you the best part of 'Playmates in Paradise' is catching a glimpse of Petra Verkaik. This lovely busty brunette never got showcased properly in videos by Playboy. All of her appearances came in early 90's titles - this one included - when the norm for nudity was much different.
A bunch of Playmates bounce from Costa Rica to Hawaii and finally Jamaica taking in the heat, locals and culture. Trying on clothes, dancing in clubs, beaches, riding bikes, horses, sailing, swimming, etc. The nudity comes sparingly. It's definitely not nonstop. You get to hear from many of the ladies and the tone is upbeat and pleasant, but the titillation meter remains low. Tawni Cable & Christina Leardini are amongst the Playmates and much like Petra get brief moments to shine.
'Playmates in Paradise' is a hard title to recommend. At times it feels like an infomercial for travelling, seeing the sights and not naked ladies. Which was the fashion at the time. Artistically dress up nudity like it's not the primary focus. Maybe it was acceptable in 1992, but it doesn't fly now. Petra fans can catch her nude sunbathing and underneath a waterfall for the highlight reel.
