Good one

Throwback to the golden era of Tamil cinema, were the super stardom of MGR at its peak. So much fascinated about the making cause of the gigantic ship war held in the sea and also poetic dialogues at its best. A good film worth to watch.

This film became most famous for being the last one in which MSV and TKR scored music together. MGR is at his swashbuckling best, while Jayalalitha is stunning. The film is a delightful entertainer with all the essential ingredients in the right proportions. Don't miss it.

RATED 9/10 Language: Tamil Source: Satellite TV RECOMMENDED

One of the best movies of MGR. It has all ingredients for the perfect entertainer.... mass dialogs, wealthy production, superb cast, good story and super hit songs.... Enjoyed the watch thoroughly.... Some songs and scenes I rewind and watched second time while watching this one.... The dialogs are so sharp and twist and turns are paced throughout the screenplay.... worth the watch...

Aayirathil Oruvan, an Extraordinary Swashbuckler
Vashista-Bhat7 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
According to me, Aayirathil Oruvan is the Greatest Movie in MGR's career. Script is inspired from many pirate films, like Captain Blood, The Crimson Pirate, and the Black Pirate, and it is nice. MGR has done well in his role. MN Nambiar and Manohar have done well as antagonists.

Screenplay of Aayirathil Oruvan is very fast, and Excellent direction from BR Panthulu. Storytelling, narration, and songs of this film is outstanding. Very Good Background Music from Vishwanath-Ramamoorthy.

The way in which characters are developed in Aayirathil Oruvan is good. Even the editing is good, and cinematography from V. Ramamoorthy is outstanding.

So many Fights and 7 songs are spaced appropriately which makes Aayirathil Oruvan a perfect Swashbuckler Film.

The Sword Fighting scenes between MGR and MN Nambiar is the major attraction of this movie. The act of MGR reforming MN Nambiar and Manohar is also commendable.

My Rating: 10/10 Verdict: Masterpiece.
