I doubt that the reviewers are reviewing the same film I saw today.Sam-519 from London is obviously reviewing Tamakichi Anaru's porno/pseudo-snuff "Niku Daruma" from 1998.Maybe Kevlin is reviewing the right film,I ain't sure.However "Flesh Meat Doll 1:Doll for Pleasure" or perhaps different film left me disappointed.It's a boring and heavily censored optically S&M porno with no gore and violence.Basically a Japanese woman played by Saki Yuri is sexually pleasured and degraded by the driver of a red car.The film looks amateurish,the porno scenes are pixellated and it lacks gore and grisly violence of "Niku Daruma".Maybe somebody who actually seen all four movies of "Flesh Meat Doll" series will point me at the right direction.3 out of 10-the biggest disappointment I have in years.

Kudos to the makers of Flesh Meat Doll for crafting what is possibly the thinnest film I've ever had the fortune of watching. No characters, no themes, tones or development, the whole thing is just one drawn-out linear act. Two guys kidnap a girl, dismember her, rape her and kill her. In that order.
The thing is, if you're sitting down to watch this, you must have some idea what you're in for. You can't watch a film called Flesh Meat Doll, all in Japanese with no subtitles (at least the version I saw) and not have some clue as to what's coming. On that level, this film isn't as shocking as it could be, probably to do with the poor budget and special effects. Still, it's mildly entertaining if you have an hour to kill or if you're into extreme cinema. And don't get excited by the porn aspect because most things are pixellated, and if you did find this kind of stuff arousing then should be concerned about yourself.

After watching this short movie it all made sense. This was the Japanese underground inspired by the success of directors like Takashi Miike. It's a one room setup that can be summarized in the following words; gore, sex and gore. Hope I didn't spoil it for anyone. It's Ichi the killer meets amateur porn. My guess is that it's an amateur production not meant to be viewed outside the living room of the people involved.
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know. The porn is uninspired and the gore is poorly made. An hour seeing something else is an hour well spent.
