hilarious with a hint of serious intellectual points

I used to think my Polytopes professor was really troll, then he directed me at this. I now understand things could be a lot worse. Fermat's Jester personality would be so hilarious to try out in tutorial. The humor is subtlety started as silliness by Fermat, builds up to incessant pricking by a Jester with a famous secret, and then jolts your funny bone with the excessiveness and flamboyance of Fermat's salt on the wounds. Fermat's modern, flashy take on an ancient and restrained profession is catchy and gently tickles the funny bone. This musical has more serious aspects as well such as the balance of passionate work and family life and leisure, the lack of elegance of some modern mathematics and the lure of fame. 9/10

And I'm not even a math person!

I admit, I laughed when I first heard of this concept-a musical about a THEOREM? About MATH? A MATHEMATICIAN? But when my professor offered extra credit to go watch this movie (recorded from a live performance), I wasn't about to turn it down. As I sit here now, I can't get the songs out of my head! It was clever and catchy, not to mention well-acted...I am most definitely NOT a "math person", but I am also very much a "theatre person"-and this movie definitely appealed to THAT side of my personality. Every one of the actors and actresses captured their roles accurately and enjoyably, and were all a pleasure to watch perform. This musical is loosely based on a true story, which makes it all the more intriguing. I don't know where you can obtain a copy of this film, but if you come across it, give it a shot! I give it a 10!

Witty and interesting

Fermat's Last Tango is a playful romp. The actors perform quite well, there is a plot, and good humor on top of that. My personal favorite is Pythagoras. When Daniel Keene solves Fermat's Last Theorem, a puzzle that has stumped math professors for ages, jealous Fermat comes back to the living world from the After Math, the place famous mathematicians go when they die. He takes Daniel to met his fellow After Math "friends," who cannot decide whether or not to allow Daniel a place in the After Math. When Fermat discovers a flaw in Daniel's theorem, it may seem like doom for the hopeful mathematician. Will Daniel be able to discover and fix his flaw before the After Math mathematicians decide it is too late?

Fun for everyone

As a mathematician I enjoyed the subtle in-jokes, but even my fiancee (who is not a mathematician) laughed and enjoyed the humour. Even if you struggled with maths in school, you'll enjoy this. The casting is supurb and Fermat is brillantly played. I especially loved the "Prove my Theorem" game show. A must see (at least once).
