Frankie enrolls in night courses to learn French, and the school arranges a student exchange. However, practicing speaking French and cleaning up their Antwerp dialect for Renée proves a testing combination.

Lionel's parents plan a four months anthropological expedition to Africa, so the boy insists on spending that time with his godfather's cool family. Meanwhile they are fighting amongst themselves.

The postman is happy to deliver a package for the crazy neighbor Marcel De Neut to the Bakeljaus. Franky opens it, granny takes some of the 'candy', which turns out to be amphetamines for Marcel's race pigeons. It gives her abnormal strength and an even crazier mood. Sabrina has applied for the SWAT team, so she is getting used to handling a machine-gun. The gullible police are easy to abuse.

Because of a construction error in Francois's building firm, his capable foreman Jean is fired, so he gets promoted. However Jean starts in his brother's extremely ill-reputed firm, and insists on installing a new staircase at the Backeljau home. So he pretends it's ordered with a reputable firm. Franky is commandeered to draw the blueprints -more imagination then sense- and prepare the site. When Jean arrives, only granny is home, so they don't even get the dubious instructions right.

Shortly before St. Nicholas Day (when European children get presents from father Christmas) the family discovers little cousin Lionel wants a video-game, too violent to ask for at his posh home. They also hoped to book a St. Nicholas and his helper Black Pete, but are too late. So dad and Franky dress up themselves, but aren't the only ones and Lionel isn't easily fooled.

Both gullible, love-sick kids and cynic granny have joined a New Age sect's nearby Purple Pyramid temple. Dutch neighbor Aad tells the parents that the guru, Trebor Seam (born Robert Maes), is a crook and 'even' former garage manager. Granny's shenanigans get them expelled, luckily, but Sabrina is already sort of brainwashed. François and Aad ignore their release, mount a hard-handed rescue operation, helped by strong Johnny, who falls for the scam.
