Hey jabronis — listen up! "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is returning for season 16 this summer, and series creator and star Rob McElhenney has teased a very special crossover via social media. The gang from "Always Sunny" broke bad long ago, so it only makes sense that Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul of "Breaking Bad" stopped by the "It's Always Sunny" set. McElhenney posted a photo of the gang hanging out at Paddy's Pub with Cranston and Paul, who played the meth kingpins of Albuquerque on the hit AMC series and in the well-executed but unnecessary Netflix follow-up film, "El Camino." There are no details about the episode yet, and it's entirely possible that the guys only appear for one scene and McElhenney is just messing with us, but there are plenty of possibilities for this incredible crossover.

Beyoncé and Madonna have teamed up for a royal collaboration, “Break My Soul (The Queens Remix).” The latest remix of Beyoncé’s Renaissance single arrived on Friday, just in time to get the weekend party started.
The percolating remix interpolates Madonna’s “Vogue” with Beyoncé flipping the script for the iconic spoke-sung section of the 1990 song, where the Material Girl lists Hollywood stars from the Golden Age. In Bey’s take, she pays homage to both current and past influential Black women who have been game-changers for the culture — from Aaliyah,...

There is no actor more closely associated with top TV producer Steven Bochco, who died Sunday, than Kim Delaney. She was a fresh-faced twentysomething when he gave her her first major primetime TV role, an arc on Season 2 of his NBC legal drama L.A. Law in 1987 as attorney Leslie Kleinberg. The same year, Bochco booked Delaney for a guest stint on another series he had on ABC, police comedy-drama Hooperman.
Eight years later, Bochco brought Delaney onto ABC cop drama NYPD Blue, which he had created with David Milch, as Detective Diane Russell, a role that earned her three Emmy nominations and a win in 1997. Bochco went on to co-create a starring vehicle for Philadelphia native Delaney, the 2001 ABC drama Philly, which lasted one season but was well received by critics. Their collaboration continued through Bochco’s final series, TNT’s Murder In the First, on which Delaney did an arc two years ago.

Alright, so according to a new report from Soaps.com,we're about to see Bill plot out a new, big scandal. If this scandal works, it could definitely put him back in the driver's seat at Spencer Publications. This is why Bill is going to needs some very specialized help to pull it off. That's where this new guy Ken will come into play. It's being reported by both Soaps.com and TVinsider.com that Bill is going to hire a tech wiz guy named Ken to hack into the Spencer Publications computer files in an effort to retrieve the incriminating recording that Liam has of Bill confessing to setting the Spectra building on fire. Obviously, if Bill can get his hands on it, Liam would have nothing to continue blackmailing Bill with. That would set the stage for Bill to return and take back his company. The big question...

Welcome back to the Weekend Warrior, your weekly look at the new movies hitting theaters this weekend, as well as other cool events and things to check out.
This Past Weekend:
Bomb, bomb bomb bomb, Boooooomb! Things just kept getting worse and worse at the box office as this past weekend saw more new releases not meeting up to their potential. The horribly-reviewed horror movie Rings (Paramount) ended up around where I predicted with $13 million, taking second place to M. Night Shyamalan’s Split. The sci-fi romance The Space Between Us (Stx Entertainment) didn’t make much of a mark, opening in ninth place with just $3.8 million with about $1,300 per theater. Robert De Niro’s The Comedian (Sony Classics) tanked worse than many recent movies, making less than a million in 848 theaters or about $1,000 per theater. By comparison, the doc I Am Not Your Negro made about 78% of that amount in 800 less theaters.

It's the final entry in Wesley's top 100 Christmas TV episodes of all time list, numbers 20 to 1. Merry Christmas to all!

Since the medium’s infancy, viewers have enjoyed sharing holidays with their favourite television characters. We grow invested in our friends on screen over the years; spending Christmas with them is a rite of passage, a chance for us to share tradition from our world with the fictional ones we see on screen. Some shows embrace the season wholeheartedly, characters in good spirits and enjoying the trappings of the season; others skew a little darker, bringing the more oppressive, burdensome side of the holidays to life. Either way, Christmas episodes tend to demonstrate the strengths of our favourite series, and it’s long been a festive ritual of mine to wheel out old...

The upcoming Luke Evans and Josh Brolin-led action thriller "Three Seconds" appears to have shut down production indefinitely right as it was about to begin filming.
Heery Casting, the extras casting director for the film says that the project shut down production and will not be continuing. The production was ready to go in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with the actors like Evans, Brolin, David Oyelowo, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Olivia Munn in town and ready to go.
However, with the state budget not yet passed the state could not guarantee them tax credits they needed as part of Pa's tax credit program. They waited on it, but in the process lost one of the main actors and so have shut down.

In show business, it's often better to be lucky than good. "Better Call Saul" writer Gordon Smith has been both. Vince Gilligan's assistant for the latter half of "Breaking Bad" — a job he got in part because a friend of a friend was on the "Bb" writing staff — Smith was promoted to full-time writer when Gilligan, Peter Gould and company moved on to "Saul," then wound up with the best possible assignment for the prequel's first season: "Five-o," the episode that detailed the tragic story of how Mike Ehrmantraut came to leave his job as a Philly cop and move to Albuquerque. It got Smith the show's lone Emmy nomination for writing for its first season, and could well get Jonathan Banks the acting Emmy he never won on "Breaking Bad." I spoke with Smith a few minutes ago about the experience of being a first-time nominee, making the...

Z Nation, Season 1, Episode 3, “Philly Feast”
Written by Jennifer Derwingson
Directed by Luis Prieto
Airs Fridays at 10pm Est on Syfy
The art of satire is sometimes difficult to accomplish successfully. Taking an element in pop culture that has become clichéd and subtly mocking it can unfortunately often be misunderstood by a large portion of its audience. Z Nation, with its consistent biting, farcical episodes, is so boisterous and bad-for-the-sake-of-bad that it is understandable why its wit may be difficult to read as purposeful. But due to some hilariously asinine scenes, viewers of the show can continue to rejoice in the ridiculous, which strengthens the spoof, rather than criticize what might weaken a standard drama.
Z Nation continues to present plot clichés from the zombie genre. In this episode, it introduces a group who have pushed their moral compasses too far out of reach and become a threat to anyone...

No one ever said parenting would be easy, but how easy can it be when the state is watching you and waiting for a screw-up? Is any home perfect? Is any family? And are we holding some people to a higher standard because they have an open file with Child Protective Services or Family Court? All good questions, and before you answer yes to that last one, let’s consider the case of Patrick Brown in Seattle and Hannah Siddique in New York City, as they are the main characters in Stephanie Wang-Breal’s sometimes brutal and often heartbreaking documentary, Tough Love.
Wang-Breal introduces us to Patrick, a former drug addict who called Cps while doing in time in prison because he was concerned about his daughter Natalya and her mother’s spiralling drug use. Natalya’s placed in a foster home, but once Patrick gets out of prison, taking...

Revolt network, which Sean Combs leads with MTV veteran Andy Schuon, is one of four minority-owned independent networks Comcast pledged to distribute as a condition of getting FCC approval of its NBCUniversal merger. And yet, since its October launch, Revolt has not been available in Comcast’s hometown, Philadelphia. Schoen told TV critics this morning they’re working on that. “People are noticing” he said of the omission. “Have they given you a date?” a Philly TV critic asked. Comcast had committed to launching Revolt “to a certain percentage of homes” in its digital basic tier and to roll it out “in more markets over time.” He noted the network is availabie in Seattle, the Bay area and Miami and in some smaller markets. “We’re a fairly obvious market,” the Philly critic snarked. He declined to say how many homes Revolt is available in because, he said when pressed,...

El Paso, Texas — Friends and family remembered actor Sherman Hemsley at his funeral Wednesday in Texas by showing video clips of him as George Jefferson, the TV role that was his best known.
About 150 people attended the service at Cielo Vista Church in El Paso. Hemsley, 74, died of lung cancer on July 24, but a fight over his estate delayed his burial.
Mourners couldn't help but laugh as they watched the clips of Hemsley playing the feisty, bigoted owner of a chain of dry-cleaning businesses on "The Jeffersons."
"He helped us to laugh, gave us an opportunity to forget the troubles, the stresses of life," El Paso Police Department chaplain Sam Faraone said during Hemsley's eulogy.
Hemsley, an Air Force veteran, was buried at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery.

One of Gibbs' former agents contacts him for help with a case involving sailors who have died from drug overdoses aboard an aircraft carrier. Gibbs (Mark Harmon)gets a phone call from his former agent Stan Burleigh,(Joel Gretsch) so we could have an episode where Tony (Michael Weatherly) feels jealous and out of sorts at not being one of Gibbs' fave agents. He still calls Gibbs boss. He worked with Gibbs for 5 years and Abby (Pauley Perrette) still misses him. He was cool, which makes Tony juvenile cool, ha. Tony has to mention working with Gibbs for 5 years, must be a record. Also being sarcastic that Burleigh didn't end up in a strait jacket. Burleigh, like Tony was/is into sports. Gibbs and Burleigh weren't really like Gibbs and Tony. He does have a soft spot for Tony, but Burleigh appeared to be on more of an equal footing with Gibbs.

A frakload of updates today. Let's start in Caprica City.

CNN has a really great article about Ron Moore this week which is mainly about 17th Precinct, but pretty much covers most of his career. Here are a couple of quotes from David Eick and Jane Espenson:
"Ron is the scariest writer I know" his former producing partner recalls.
"I'm not sure there's anything he can't do remarkably well. Even within the context of 'Battlestar,' there was such a wild panoply of styles and emotions -- action, tragedy, melodrama, comedy, philosophy, even music -- all of which I watched him nail."

In a miraculous stroke of good fortune, USA Network opened the doors of its brand new drama series Suits to the press so that we could see what is really going on in the hallowed halls of the fictional law offices of Pearson Harden. As can be seen from the set photos, it was rare chance to see a new show being built from the ground up – to watch the glass tower world of New York City be rebuilt in a Toronto film studio. Providing their exclusive insight on their characters and the secret ingredient to this new show were stars Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, Rick Hoffman and executive producer Doug Liman. (Unfortunately Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle were tied up filming and were not available for interviews that day.)

Although “Devil” was written but not directed by M. Night Shyamalan his influence is palpable throughout. Just like with “Signs” and “The Village” the story centers around a small group of people held in confined surroundings and battling an unknown menace. The difference with previous Shyamalan vehicles is that “Devil” is cast with only five people who spend the length of the film stuck together in an elevator. And if it weren’t for the other characters on the outside, it would be pretty difficult to sustain an interest in the film.
Detective Bowden (Chris Messina) gets called to a huge skyscraper in Philly after someone jumps out a window. A heavy-handed (and annoyingly stereotyped) Latino voiceover informs us that the Devil often appears in the wake of suicides to wreak havoc among random strangers.

In the upcoming NBC anthology-style show "Love Bites," Greg Grunberg plays Judd, a happily married guy with a lot of tattoos and a "celebrity exemption list" of people his wife says he's allowed to sleep with outside his marriage.
There's only one name on the list: Jennifer Love Hewitt. When Judd bumps into her on an airplane, he decides to take his shot. "I owe it to the fat kid from Philly who had a poster of Jennifer Love Hewitt in his room," he says.
Hewitt plays herself in the pilot episode. Zap2it recently spoke to Grunberg about working with the star. "I didn't know what to expect," he says. "I've been a fan of hers for a while. She's just, you know, gorgeous, so who knows what she's going to be like, right?"
Grunberg wasn't disappointed. "She's the sweetest, funniest, most accessible, generous actor I've worked with in a long time.

The productions created 2,000 jobs and generated close to one half billion dollars in economic impact.
Besides the Brooks project, the movies that shot in Philadelphia included "Tech," "Right Hand Man," "Night Catches Us," "The Best and the Brightest," "The Last Airbender," "Cafe" and "Redemption." The series were "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and "Cold Case."
"In 2009 we welcomed more big movie stars and directors to the area and are thrilled to report a much larger economic boon to the region than in any time in my 18 years at the Film Office.
