When the first teaser for Aanand L Rai’s Zero was released we all presumed the song ‘Humko Tumpe Pyar Aaya’ originally featured in the 1960s’ musical blockbuster film Jab Jab Phool Khile, was being used on Shah Rukh Khan as a homage to Shashi Kapoor who died last month.
But Aanand who loves vintage music, Mohd Rafi, Shashi Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan—not necessarily in that order—says the song was selected long before the tragic demise of Shashi Kapoor.

Bollywood legend Shashi Kapoor has received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contributions towards Indian Cinema. The 77 year old actor, which is famed for his blockbuster hits like Jab Jab Phool Khile, Deewaar and Kabhi Kabhie, is the 46th winner of this honour, which has gone to people of exemplary talent.
Shashi Kapoor made his debut in Dharmputra, before becoming a Bollywood icon in the 1960s and 70s. He is also known for being one of the first Bollywood actors to star in international films; including famous Merchant-Ivory films like Shakespeare Wallah, Bombay Talke and Heat and Dust.

Bollywood legend Nanda had died at the age of 75. According to family members, the veteran actress died of a massive heart attack at her residence in Mumbai on Tuesday morning. Born in 1939, Nanda was a major star during the 1960s and 70s and is famous for films such as Aanchal (1960), Hum Dono (1961), Jab Jab Phool Khile (1965), Gumnaam (1965) and Ittefaq (1969). She played both lead and supporting roles and went on to play senior characters during the 1980s with films such as Ahista Ahista (1981) and Prem Rog (1982). She retired from acting after having completed her work in Prem Rog where she played the mother of lead actress Padmini Kolhapure. According to Nanda’s family members, her death came as a “shock as she did not have a history of illness.”
Nanda’s last rites were performed at a crematorium in Oshiwara on Wednesday. Bollywood stars and friends paid tribute to her after hearing of her sad demise.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who worked with him in films like "Deewar" and "Namak Halaal", wished him good health and happiness.
