One thing that surprised me and made me think during watching "Beyond Recognition" was the fact that the filmmakers of this ultra-cheapie managed to film in THREE different countries, according to the closing credits. I'm not sure how they managed to do this, because the rest of the filmmaking here manages to be at the bottom of the barrel. Often it seems that the movie was shot with an early '80s camcorder, which gives the movie an awful look and substandard sound. The locations (even those in the foreign countries) look very shabby, and have minimum decoration (the doctor's desk in his office is just a table!) But what really sinks the movie is that it is so, so DULL. There is no passion behind the camera, and even the actors seem very unenthusiastic to be there. One more thing: Does the FBI really have power in Italy? Believe me, you'll be asking yourself a lot more questions like that throughout.
