Murder without motive
searchanddestroy-114 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
A young man is killed at night in Popincourt street, stabbed by seven knife wounds, deadly wounds. It happens that, at the same moment, Maigret had dinner with a couple of friends. And it appears that the young man carried a tape recorder with which he picked conversations from many places, such as grocery stores, cafés, restaurants...So it seems clear for Maigret and his crew that the victim has been stabbed because of what she may have picked with her machine. And the first lead for the cops is a burglary ready to be pulled and recorded on tape by the deceased. Stunning performance by Hughes Quester, as the assassin who finally had nothing to do with his victim. A deep study of human kind, human loneliness.

A very good episode directed by Marcel Cravenne, the brother of the guy who created French Academy Awards ceremony, back in 1976.
