The popular poem of the name has suggested to the author of this photoplay a love story, but it was not necessarily implied by it. The quotations from it used as subtitles help to keep the picture in a poetic mood. There is some pretty posing in it, but the story is not life-like or strong. The way the audience receives any offering tells very little; this was, in part, ridiculed here by an early morning audience. - The Moving Picture World, December 6, 1913
