Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Note: The number at the beginning of each section refers to how much explicit content of that kind there is in the film on a scale of 1-10. The fraction at the end of the last section is the total sum of the sections over the highest sum possible (50) and is therefore an approximation of about how explicit the film is a whole.

Sex & Nudity: 4

Some innuendo early on in the film.

The main character's love interest is shown in revealing outfits and acts in a sexually provocative manner.

After Sam has locked his room to hide the Transformers and his love interest, his parents order him to open his door. When he does not, the mother suggests that "you can always call it Sam's happy time if it makes you uncomfortable".

Violence & Gore

Violence & Gore: 3

Soldiers aim their guns at a chopper that's infiltrated and landed at their camp. As it starts to transform into Blackout, the soldiers open fire on it, but to no avail. Blackout then fires back at those soldiers and their camp, with all sorts of property damage and presumed wounds or deaths. One man is shown being zapped by Blackout. No blood or detail though.

During the fight between Barricade and Bumblebee, Frenzy attacks Sam. Frenzy is defeated by Michaela cutting his head off with a reciprocating saw, and Sam kicks the head away.

The fight between Optimus Prime and Bonecrusher ends when Prime uses his retractable blade to cut Bonecrusher's head off.

Megatron rips Jazz in half. But there is no blood and you see it from far away.

In the desert sequence, men shoot at the scorponok robot from a C130 and when they're done he goes back underground and his tail comes off.

Barricade throws Sam into the air and causes him to hit the window of a car which breaks.

Frenzy throws razors at two men which hits them in the stomach and kills them.

Barricade hits Bumblebee with something sharp, then Bumblebee tackles Barricade into a building, nearly killing him.

Scorponok stabs one of the men with its tail in the desert sequence, bangs him on the ground, and pulls him underground. We hear him scream.

Close to the end, Frenzy shoots out his flying blades at some men but misses and eventually chops his own head off.

Sam kills Megatron by putting the allspark in his chest.

Throughout the movie nearly all of the violence is a robot attacking another robot or a human attacking a robot. None of the robots bleed. There is no gore.

Profanity

Profanity: 9

2 incomplete "F"-words (both used with "mother"), 6 "s**t" words, 4 "hell" words, 3 "ass" words, 4 "piss" words, 2 "damn" words, 2 "b**ch" words, 1 "Godd*mn" word, 1 "p**sy" word, and a "finger" is flashed. The air freshener dangling from Bumblebee's rear view mirror in the begining, reads "Bee Otch" and in one scene, Sam repeatedly yells the "s**t" word while being chased.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: 2

The sheriff hands Sam a urine sample bottle, asking him what drugs he's on. Later in the scene, Sam, after being mocked by the cop, asks the sheriff "Are *you* on drugs?"

Frightening/Intense Scenes: 3

The appearances of Megatron and the other bad Decepticons might be unnerving or scary to younger viewers.

An idea of how accurate the TECE (below) is: 5-10 is a little-kid suitable, G-Rated type of film (i.e. Care Bears, Sleeping Beauty); 10-15 is going to be a little harsher, but not by much (i.e. The Incredibles); 15-20 could be pretty high up there (i.e. Indiana Jones), 20-25 is going to pretty adult (i.e. THIS); 25-30 is going to be a film most likely not suitable for anyone under 17 (i.e. Braveheart); 30-40 is going to be an absolutely, positively adults-only film (i.e. Saving Private Ryan) and if a movie has ever gone past 40, then I haven't heard of it.

Total Explicit Content Estimation: 21/50.
