Ouaga Saga is a hodgepodge of stories from Ouagadogou, capital of Burkina Faso. Probably the original script didn't fully pan out, or never existed in the first place, so we get a loose bundle of stories centering around a bunch of street urchins who nick a scooter and consequently rake in an unprecedented amount of cold cash. One of them buys a guitar to pursue his musical career, another buys a pair of second-hand soccer shoes (guaranteed to be previously worn by Paris St- Germain!), another buys a lottery ticket. Then a flash businessman appears on the scene, and, erm, in the end there's a football game. Roll credits.
Okay, so we're not in Hollywood anymore, Toto, but deep in the heart of Africa. Sure, there's a script somewhere, and you'll get it -- ah, tomorrow. Or the day after. But still the individual stories are told convincingly and captivatingly, the music is hypnotic and there are even some CGI FX. What this movie lacks in perfection, it makes up in charm. Enjoy the ride.
