Sad, accurate documentary about adult mental illness
judy-kessler4 May 2006
This documentary follows 3 mentally ill, but otherwise intelligent adult men for 3 years as they attempt to enter mainstream life. These particular men are exceptional in that they are cared for by family, unlike the majority of mentally ill adults who wind up on the streets. The film addresses the ups and downs of their illness, its effect on their families, the underemployment they are forced to take, and the limited parts of society they can participate in. It appears that the primary goal of their medical and family caretakers is to ensure that they do no harm to themselves or others, but the side effects of the medications are horrible and obvious. This movie broke my heart.
