Dumb vignettes waste a fine cast
lor_12 March 2018
Jon Woods working at Harmony Concepts directed this lousy collection of short subjects about topless damsels in bondage, that plays like cutting room floor rejects. Its preservation on video (and several years later on DVD) is a testament to the odd interest in this worthless genre.

Key problem is basic to the entire "Bondage/Fetish Video" phenomenon - a fanbase that will accept essentially still photography in place of motion pictures. Of course Bettie Page and her fellow fetish models remain a treasure from the world of kinky magazines and photo shoots, but the inability of hacks like Woods (and many others, notably Jack Banner) to interpret the fetish content to live action is astounding.

So what we get here are inept set-ups for a situation, using the crummiest of sets (mainly apartment interiors with minimal set decoration), then the models trussed up with ropes and gagged, in order to be viewed squirming around trying to escape their bonds. Arbitrarily they are presented topless to assauge the viewer's prurient interest. But nothing of interest ever happens.

Title vignette runs over a half hour, as busty Carolyn Monroe and Kelly Kole protrary agents for a government spy agency, being put through training by taskmaster Ivy Manner. It's sort of a boot camp set of cliches with the usual knock-out set-up (Manner throttles Monroe and then chloroforms Kole), tying them up and later bawling them out. Genre cliche has role reversal of the gals getting in bed with sleeping Manner only to turn the tables on her, but just listening to them incompetently reciting awful dialog (all the better to generate unfunny out-takes) drains the theoretically sexy scene of all value.

Woods sort of feels sorry for his audience by delivering a concise 2-minute sketch entitled "January White Sale" which revolves merely around a pun, as Kiki D'Aire and Friday do a brief burlesque sketch involving white slavery before the haw-haw-haw punch line. Models named Devin Demoore and Doll briefly appear alongside mainstream porn star Zana in bondage as well as one named Ruby who through Harmony's sloppiness is left out of the credits. Also note: tow models Sherilyn York and Angela Valdez are credited but I couldn't spot them in any of the vignettes.

"The Fetish Specialist" stars all-time Amber Michaels, who gamely tries to act in a nonsensical comedy about prostitution. She's undercover trying to trap hooker Autumn Woods, but things go wrong and attempted irony is ridiculous. It's just another chance to see the topheavy models topless, all tied up.

"The Squatter" is a rather stupid but fortunately short scene about Calli Cox as a cop investigating a robbery at Jodi Baldwin's place, with idiotic attempts at plot twists. The only point of interest here is that tall Jodi doesn't go topless and resembles a TS actress though I assume back in 2002 when this was made she is in fact a cis-female. Rounding out the short video are two "complete solos" of Michaels and Zana, equivalent to bonus out-takes and there just as padding.
