Westboro Baptist Church had every intention to picket “Star Trek” actor Leonard Nimoy‘s Los Angeles funeral on Sunday, but the congregation, known for spewing caustic and intolerant rhetoric at high-profile funerals, was unable to attend because the location of the services were kept private. “Leonard Nimoy‘s funeral is today, but nobody is sharing Where. So Westboro And @WilliamShatner can’t attend :(,” the church wrote in a Twitter message accompanying a Vine video of a man holding a neon “Love Thy Neighbor Equals Rebuke” sign. Love Thy Neighbor: Moss Finds Faith In Oil Boomtown
In the small town of Williston, North Dakota, a modern day boomtown is growing exponentially as men down on their luck and desperately seeking work flock with hopes of being hired in the newly fracked oil fields that surround the town. This influx of migrant workers has brought an unforeseen strain on the community, as the large majority of them ride by bus or train into town with nothing more than a bag full of cloths and a heart full of hope, and hence, have no where to sleep. Those that do manage to drive themselves out in beat up minivans and lived in winnebagos have very few places to legally sleep in their vehicles. Horror has come in a variety of flavors this summer: Gory. Existential. Sharknado. FX’s The Strain is geek Neapolitan—a combo of all three. It’s a high-concept monster mash—a vampire takeover thing restated as a zombie plague thing—that revels in body ick and clever ironies. This is a show that gets its shocks and jollies from having a goth rocker—a prick raconteur who’s only in it for the “p—y”—accidentally flush his balls down the toilet after his infected body abruptly decides to shed them, leaving him looking like Marilyn Manson on the cover of Mechanical Animals.

Texas Governor Rick Perry (R) is upset with Madonna for her recent protest against the Boy Scouts' ban on gay members and leaders, calling her comments a “gratuitous shot” at the organization, the Houston Chronicle reported Friday.
In an appearance on the Glenn Beck Program on Tuesday, Perry chastised Madonna for her behavior at a March 16 Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) event, in which the pop star wore a Cub Scout uniform and blasted the Boy Scouts’ "stupid" ban on gay members.
“It’s fascinating that someone would make that kind of gratuitous shot at an organization that has probably done as much to promote young men to the type of values that the vast majority of the people in this country aspire to,” Perry told Beck.

Madonna lived up to her reputation for courting controversy and fighting for gay rights when she appeared on March 16 in New York City at the 24th annual Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Awards, the first of three events to be held this year to honor the best representations of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (Lgbt) people in the media.

Then, addressing the organization's ban on gay scouts and scout leaders, Madonna stated, "I think I should be allowed to be allowed to be a Boy Scout. And I think they should change their stupid rules.

Ratings at the channel, a joint venture with Oprah Winfrey, are “ahead of where we thought we’d be,” Discovery CEO David Zaslav told analysts this morning. Winfrey is actively involved with the projects. Perry just “sent me some pictures and Oprah was in the control room,” Zaslav says. Two of the series that Tyler Perry is producing for Oprah Winfrey’s Own cable network are set to start shooting in Atlanta and have Los Angeles-based casting directors attached, as Backstage predicted in October. Perry’s studios are in Georgia’s capital and local casting will be done in-house by Rhavynn Drummer. But to find the top talent for ”Love Thy Neighbor” and “The Haves and Have Nots,” they’ve turned to Southern California casting directors Shaunda Grace Jones and Kim Coleman, respectively. Coleman, who has often worked with Perry, is also casting his next Madea Christmas film, which starts shooting in Atlanta next week. Silliest Gossip: Proving that sometimes, reality TV really is just like real life, The Bachelorette’s Ali and Roberto hooked up at the wedding of fellow contestants J.P. and Ashley.

Either you’re blissfully unaware of Tyler Perry, or you know exactly who he is and avoid him at all costs. Granted, if none of those options describe you, you’re a lover of a director who continually insults the intelligence of his audience and/or movies in which a man dresses up as a woman and is obnoxious about it.
And whilst you can find Tyler Perry, Hollywood’s highest-paid actor/director/whatever, currently bringing nothing to the latest Alex Cross adaptation, Alex Cross, he’s just signed a deal with The Oprah Winfrey Network to bring two new shows to the air next year. Because, yes, it’d be highly unlike Tyler Perry to create just one show at a time!
The first, complete with obligatory ”Tyler Perry” tag (something I only thought John Carpenter could get away with), is called Tyler Perry’s Love Thy Neighbor, and...

The upcoming division of Oprah Winfrey's Own into equal Oprah and Tyler Perry cells has reached its first stage of Tyler Perry's mitosis, with Tyler Perry splitting into two new Tyler Perry cells that will allow Tyler Perry to continue to multiply across the whole of entertainment. Having dug deep into Tyler Perry's vast reserves of unflinching social commentary and folksy wisdom, then just slapped some stuff together about lovingly bickering families again, Tyler Perry has created two all-new archetypically Tyler Perry shows for Oprah's Own. Tyler Perry's Love Thy Neighbor is a comedy set ...

Two months after news that Oprah Winfrey's Own Network had entered into a partnership with Tyler Perry to bring scripted series to the network, effectively killing Tyler's own plans to launch his own TV network, comes news that Own has officially ordered 2 comedy series from Tyler Perry, in an overall deal that will see Perry write, direct and executive produce both. The 2 new scripted series are: The Haves and the Have Nots - a drama about the dynamics of the affluent Cyrer family and the impoverished family of their housekeeper, Hanna, and the obstacles and secrets that exist within both. And... Love Thy Neighbor - a...

That didn’t take long — two months after Oprah Winfrey‘s Own announced a multi-year exclusive deal with Tyler Perry for scripted shows, the network has greenlighted two series written, directed and produced by Perry from his production company Tyler Perry Studios. Perry’s agreement with Own called for him to write, direct and exec produce two series for a mid-2013 launch. Now the shows have been identified, drama The Haves And The Have Nots and comedy Love Thy Neighbor, the network confirmed. This marks the first drama series for the prolific Perry, who stayed strictly on the sitcom side with his TBS series, all done with Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury: House Of Payne, Meet The Browns and For Better Or Worse. The Tyler Perry shows mark Own’s first scripted offerings. Related: Tyler Perry Is Great For Own: Analyst The Haves And The Have Nots is about the dynamics of...

"Miley Cyrus or Mahatma Gandhi?" is not a question we often ask ourselves when pondering aphorisms on love, life and happiness. But the 19-year-old Disney star has been quite prolific in making profound statements on her Twitter account, which has lately been reading more like a "Love thy neighbor" manifesto than a teen queen's digital diary.

The second season of Body of Proof kicked off with a not so subtle homage to Dana Delany's past on Desperate Housewives. Indeed, "Love Thy Neighbor" pushed Megan into the middle of a cull de sac community full of swinging couples, financial scams, and suburban drug labs.
It was almost as interesting as seeing Kate, looking very comfortable leaving Megan's former home, kissing Megan's ex-husband and telling her daughter to have a good day at school. All in front of Megan. Ugh. What a way to start your day.
I have to say I understood why Kate was so ticked at Kate about Lacey. Kate could have tried harder to get in touch with Megan and should have specified in the message that this was about her daughter. No, I don't think Kate is really the bad guy here. There isn't a bad guy in this. Just a very uncomfortable situation for all involved.

Hard-nosed Dr. Megan Hunt (Dana Delany) loosened up a bit during the freshman season of ABC's "Body of Proof," but all that was put in jeopardy when she found out ex-husband Todd (Jeffrey Nordling) was sleeping with her boss, Dr. Kate Murphey (Jeri Ryan).
Well, against the odds, Season 2 of the series kicks off with the usual threesome behaving quite civilly.
"Tensions get high and tempers can flare, but the bottom line is they're professionals and adults," Ryan told Zap2it at the Season 2 launch party. "And I'm still her boss."
Still, it's not exactly "Three's Company."
There's a moment in the Tuesday premiere, "Love Thy Neighbor," where Megan thinks Kate crosses a line, taking on some of her parental duties.
"Kate is sort of finding herself where she didn't want to be," says Ryan, "in the middle of an already tense family dynamic. And there's a kid involved. Kate is not a mom.

Chicago – I had some serious issues with the first-season premiere of “Body of Proof,” a modest hit for ABC that they’ve decided to give another shot at developing into a major one with a second season. Having not watched an episode since Matt Fagerholm’s 2-star review (one which I agreed with wholeheartedly and echoed on my weekly Wgn-am radio segment), I was curious to see if they had fixed the problems with the show. Would tonight’s season-two premiere be an overhauled, new-and-improved version of what we watched six months ago? Nope.
TV Rating: 2.0/5.0
Star Dana Delany is still easily the best thing about “Body of Proof” and if there’s one thing that Has improved season to season it’s that she seems even more confident in her character’s expensive shoes. An official red band trailer for indie horror "Red State" has been released. Filled with violence and profane language, the fresh preview follows three high school boys who end up having to fight for their life when they encounter a fundamentalist preacher with sinister agenda, Abin Cooper.
Aside from this red band trailer, a fresh poster for the Kevin Smith-directed movie has also been unveiled. The one-sheet gives a look at a woman in a pair of short pants, carrying a rifle with both of her hands. It also highlights on a tagline that read, "Love Thy Neighbor".
First premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, "Red State" is scheduled for a limited release in the United States on October 19. In addition to serving behind the lens, Smith also provided the script for this indie horror film and self-distributed it with countrywide tours and more. Jonathan Gordon serves as the producer.

Merry Christmas. Be grateful. Love thy neighbor. Deck the halls. Peace on earth. Joy to the world. Help the homeless. Give to the poor. Do unto others. Bless you, my child. Good will toward men. Holly, golly, jolly. Caroling and wassailing. A partridge in a peartree. And kiss Donder and Blitzen. Many interesting gifts this year. Like Mel Gibson's new CD, "What Women Really Want." Or the new sour cream that instead of an expiration date bears this slogan: "What's it gonna do -- go Good?...

I'm just going to preface today's post by letting you all know that's I'm moving into the brand new apartment today! Wooo! Yeah, after being dicked around for fucking ever and a half, I finally get to move into a steady, comfortable home. Booyah!
Oh look, someone decided to put the first ten minutes of Easy A online and it's actually pretty amazing. Well a'doy, of course it is. I honestly don't think Emma Stone can do wrong at this point. Hell, she was the only saving grace in The House Bunny, and that movie sucked allllllllll the dicks. (Film Drunk)
I'm sure this must come as a shock to many of you, but Heidi and Spencer Pratt are getting back together, because fake divorces for fake marriages are just a huge money suck, aren't they? It always makes me happy to see two people work it out for the sake of the publicity.

Maybe There's No Brokeback Mountain Or Milk, But There's Also No I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry
The fall movie season is upon us, and while we've already uncovered pretty much everything gay on TV, we haven't yet taken a look at what's gay in theaters over the next few months. But that's partly because there usually isn't enough to fill up a page, much less an entire movie preview article. Sadly, that looks to be the case this fall.
Nonetheless, with that in mind, I've dispatched a squad of AfterElton flying monkeys to poke around and see what they can find. And to make fun of the rest.
What did they learn? For starters, Betty White isn't as nice as she seems...

Echo Bridge Entertainment is following up Absolute Zero with Disaster Zone: Volcano in New York June 1st on DVD. A trailer for the film shows an entire city consumed by ash, lava and debris as a geothermal experiment goes very, very wrong. Expect Costas Mandylor (Beowulf), the iconic, Canadian actor Michael Ironside (Terminator Salvation) and Alexandra Paul (Love Thy Neighbor) to star in this natural catastrophe styled thriller. The fun begins tomorrow, June 1st, for those with a taste for the fantastical and possibly even the bizarre.
A synopsis for Disaster Zone: Volcano in New York:
"A volcano beneath New York City seems unlikely…yet nothing else can explain the bizarre tremors and terrifying explosions wreaking havoc on the city. Tunnel digger Matt MacLachlan (Costas Mandylor) and his team of "Sandhogs" have witnessed lava seeping into the city's aqueduct system and know the unimaginable truth. A scientist's (Michael Ironside) secret,...

The Sentimental Engine Slayer by Omar Rodriguez Lopez is about a young boy named Barlam whose inability to connect with the conventions of the world throws him (and us) into a morass of noisy disjunction complete with smashed crucifixes and bludgeoned cross-dressers. And yet, even though I found the film to be somewhat expectable, and by the hour mark I was checking my watch, in the end Lopez had won over me over. The Sentimental Engine Slayer is a pretty decent romp.
I have to admit, I had intended to dislike this film from start to finish. I’ve known Lopez’s work since “Lopez” was “Omar,” from the beginnings of the At the Drive In (his first “super band”) days, and have always found his stuff to be postured a great...

On behalf of Overture Films, we are pleased to present two new TV spots for “The Crazies.”
Imagine living in a small town where everything is safe and happy…until suddenly it isn’t. Imagine your friends and neighbors going quickly and horrifically insane. In a terrifying tale of the “American Dream” gone horribly wrong, four friends find themselves trapped in their hometown in The Crazies, a reinvention of the George Romero classic directed by Breck Eisner from a screenplay by Ray Wright (Pulse, Case 39) and Scott Kosar (The Amityville Horror, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre).
David Dutten (Timothy Olyphant) is sheriff of Ogden Marsh, a picture-perfect American town with happy, law-abiding citizens. But one night, one of them comes to a school baseball game with a loaded shotgun, ready to kill. Another man burns down his own house…after locking his wife and young son in a closet inside.
