"My Name Is Forest. Detective Forest. People Call Me, Detective Forest."

Warning: Spoilers
I have something in common with this episode of Adam-12. No, I never went around impersonating a Police Officer. One quiet summer morning, I became aware of very loud banging noises disturbing the peace in the little suburban neighborhood I had then been living in. Looking out the front door, I saw that a teenage boy was using a baseball bat to beat the heck out of an older model car parked in a driveway a few doors down. He was, however, beating only the body of the car. No windows were broken. Another neighbor across the street had also heard the noises and she too was at her front door, seeing the teenager, the bat and the car. I signaled to her that I would call the police. I did know that new people had moved into the house in question, but had not seen any of them or this particular car prior to this occurence. The teenage boy didn't stop smashing the car until Police came zooming up on him. It turned out that like the woman in this episode of Adam-12 who was beating a car with a baseball bat, the car belonged to the teenager. He was beating the car to - basically speaking - give it character! So there are indeed weird, bizarre people just like the woman in this episode who do really stupid, strange things like this.

In the case of the woman in this episode who was beating the car, I would think Malloy or Reed could have informed the woman that she could have just sold the car, even if for only fifty dollars. As it turned out, the car - which was in her name, not her drunkard husband's- was now not just worthless, but she would also now have to pay to have it towed away.

It was nice to see Malloy & Reed actually stopping a robbery in progress. Or at least stopped the bad guys before they could get away. Nice thinking on Malloy's part to grab those keys out of that cargo truck.

Also interesting was the Upper Level Law Men at the Station House telling M & R (more for Reed's benefit as well as the viewers') that the Officer suspected of stealing would be treated like any other citizen. Investigated, possibly arrested, but presumed innocent until proven guilty. However, it was also nice to see that Reed and moreso Malloy was determined that the suspected Detective Forest was indeed innocent and that somebody was out there impersonating an Officer.

Most fun of all was the realization, upon viewing the episode's end credits, that two brothers had been brought on to play the parts of Forest and his look-alike impersonator. Nice job on that, Adam-12 Producers!

(*Sergeant MacDonald quote*) - "What makes you so sure someone's impersonating an officer?"

It looks like someone is impersonating detective, Hal Forest and they're causing all sorts of trouble for the police.

In the meantime, a car-basher attracts all sorts of attention and the burglar at the Garrison's house gets caught red-handed with the goods.
