Oh Waitress!

What I really enjoyed about his episode is the Waitress near the end of the show (she has no name and is listed in the credits as The Waitress). The actress is named Rose Ann Zecker in the credits. It was as if she was delivering a form of stand up comedy, complete with great facial expressions and an adorable accent. I later discovered she was in two other episodes playing different characters (S06. E24 - A Clinic on 18th Street and S07E.04 - Roll Call). She was also in an episode of the Adam-12 spin off series, Emergency (S04. E22 - 904-Wild). Sadky, she has not done much since. I wonder what became of such a wonderful actress.

Do Mont? Do Mont Who?

Warning: Spoilers
A bit of a slow episode, but still a good one. Malloy and Reed respond to a call regarding a burglary at an apartment complex. We see an elderly woman who has lost her "only friend". It's her Dumont. Reed is confused, which is sort of strange. He's old enough to know what a Dumont is. It's a TV Set and the name, Dumont, was well known in the 1950s/60s when Reed was a kid/teenager. There was even an entire Dumont Television Network. Right alongside NBC and CBS of the time.

M & R also answer a call to a robbery in progress at an antique store. Most memorable in this segment is Reed stopping an occupied baby-carriage which careens down a steep hill. Martin Milner's daughter, Amy, appears as the daughter of the Antiques Store owner. Like actor father - unlike actress daughter. She's rather flat in her performance. Her character's father has been shot and all she does is turn the corners of her mouth downwards a titch bit. Oh, and she complains about Reed saving that baby instead of capturing both of the robbers. That though, is how the character is written.

There's some discussion regarding a new law which aids victims of crimes regain the cost of lost property. Reed is perplexed as to why authorities in government and Law aren't working faster to get this information to those who need and can use it. Well Reed, some 50 years on now in 2023 as I write this, today's authorities in government and Law are still pretty much just as lax.

Another Busy Day For Officers Reed and Malloy
StrictlyConfidential24 December 2020
(*Officer Reed to Officer Malloy quote*) - "The exercise will do you good."

Starting off their shift, Officers Reed and Malloy question an angry woman about the theft of a television from her apartment.

Then 2 robbery suspects are apprehended after taking shots at the owner of an antique shop.

And to finally round things off - A restaurant is robbed and Officer Reed chases down one suspect on foot.
