A man is hospitalised, Meadows has Jack MacKenzie in custody, a man that takes pleasure in rubbing him up the wrong way, meanwhile a young boy makes a claim against his care home.
Very good episode, and not just because of the obvious reason. A very bleak plot, with a particularly nasty story here, but there's a good use of misdirection, you think something is happening, it is, but somewhere else.
It was good to see Jack Meadows rattled, and that he was. An episode that felt like it belonged from years back, slags galore.
It is of course all the better for the appearance of Ray Winstone, I had no idea he'd pop up on The Bill, and he's great, he really does add something, in his own inimitable style.
Excellent, 8/10.
