Hoss falls for a gold digger

This episode finds Dan Blocker and Michael Landon traveling to meet the widow of an old Ben Cartwright friend. Expecting a senior citizen they are happy to find Julie Adams a beautiful 30 something. Hoss is in love.

But Adams is not all she seems and the hints are there, but Dan Blocker is just too blind to see it. And Lorne Greene doesn't want to hurt his middle son.

Adams is the worst kind of gold digger one with a gambling problem and the insatiable need for money that comes withit.

This one is Dan Blocker's episode. This story shows what a gentle giant Hoss Cartwright was and why he was such a beloved character. You hate Adams all the more.

This one is especially for Dan Blocker's fans.

Julie Adams...I cannot stand her characters! I remember her in "Nora" when she played on The Rifleman and couldn't stand her for what she did. Now she gets poor Hoss believing her words!

Hoss is a sweetie. He is so willing to do for others and love someone that it didn't take much for her to get him right where she wanted him.

This episode starts out comical between Hoss and Little Joe, and then soon turns serious when Hoss helps a widow in distress. Secretly, she has another problem that puts a wedge between Hoss and his family.

The episode was good, but I didn't like Julie Adams' character!
