Ending this wonderful series with a rather sub-par episode.

While I think "Brooklyn Bridge" was one of the finest shows of the early 1990s, it never found its audience and few seemed to have watched it. I was surprised when it was renewed for a second season, though season two was a VERY rough one. The show bounced around the lineup--and often was on hiatus for weeks or months at a time. By the end, I had no idea when and if the show would be broadcast...and, sadly, the final episode isn't very good compared to the rest. It also does nothing to tie up the show and end it in a positive or meaningful way. It also has a glaring historical mistake...one the writers should have noticed.

The show concerns the reactions of the various folks from the show to the Russian launch of Sputnik and the beginning of the space race. The mistake is that this came about six months AFTER the Brooklyn Dodgers announced they were leaving for Los Angeles. But this move was never mentioned AND the Silvers are huge Dodgers fans. Having the Dodgers leaving Brooklyn would have made for the perfect (but sad) ending to the series....and the Sputnik angle seemed forced and not especially inspired. Still worth seeing...but weak.
