Mob Violence
Hitchcoc15 January 2021
A foreign taxi driver inadvertently runs over a young man. As he tries to call it in, a group of men assault and kill him. They claim he was trying to drive away. But there is more to it. The kid he ran over had been stabbed and probably passed out on the street and then was hit. This leads to a lot of connected characters and an interesting conclusion.

The Mob and the Taxi Driver

When a taxi driver runs over a young man, the nearby mob takes him out of his car and beat him to almost death. Capt. Brass and Grissom identify each attacker with photo and DNA. Dr. Robbins tells Grissom that the teenager was already dead when the car run over him and he summons Sara to help him to find the primary crime scene. They locate the spot in a park and soon they find another body and a gun in the place. Soon Capt. Brass interview the mother of the victim and learn that the family was fleeing from her husband, and the man found murdered in the park is her boyfriend. What might have happened in the park?

"Blood Lust" is an episode of "CSI" with many twists and a great mystery: Who killed the teenager and Stewart Bradley? There are many suspects and the revelation in the end will certainly surprise the viewer. The investigation of the mob is more conventional and easily resolved. Once again, a case of bigotry. My vote is eight.

A dramedy model

One of the best stories in the William Petersen-led series. I think when a 45-minute detective show is created this episode contains the archetypal elements. The script, acting and directing combined are outstanding that blends drama and comedy to near perfect onscreen portrayals. The art truly imitates life in the storyline's underlying themes, as crime never really pays and almost always begets tragedy and despair. The detection procedural leading to the end revelations were also great in that it's more grounded or easily believable or relatable in real life. Kudos to the entire cast and crew for the excellent production.
