When you have to produce up to 25 episodes per season not all of them can be classics.
This episode certainly isn't, and relies very heavily on Lea Thompson making the most of a weaker script that sees Caroline going on the 'Tonight Show with Jay Leno' in order to carry it, along with a couple of big name guest stars putting in an appearance.
I was annoyed with what they did with the 'Charlie finds his father' story. I know that it being Charlie it was always going to go more for laughs that pathos, but the end result is just silly.
