This was an enjoyable episode with a worthy plot. A horse bettor is killed at a racetrack and the man's daughter hires the Angels to find out who did it. The daughter's told that her father died by being kicked by a horse, but the viewer is witness to the fact that he's murdered by one of the stable hands in the opening scene.

The stable hand is played by James Gammon, appearing in his second Charlie's Angels episode. His first was season 2 episode "Angels on Ice", a two-parter, where he played low IQ Billy. Here he plays a low IQ stable hand who has no problem killing anyone getting in his way.

His partner in crime is played by John David Carson, as an Irish stable hand named Kevin Ryan. They're in a betting conspiracy with David Hedison, who plays big time gambler Carter Gillis. Hedison is best known for playing Felix Liter in two different James Bond movies, with two different James Bonds; Roger Moore in Live and Let Die, and Timothy Dalton in License to Kill.

It all revolves around a racehorse called Perdition, who's a bit of a wallflower... in other words, a loser. But Perdition has a twin brother who they substitute as a ringer. The idea is to get Perdition's track odds to longshot status and then substitute the ringer, hoping they can make a killing off of their huge bets. The murdered man had discovered this ruse and was killed for it.

Kelly goes undercover as a magazine writer (which is usually Sabrina's gig), Kris goes undercover as a rich horse buyer with Bosley, and Sabrina goes undercover as a practice rider jockey. This keeps with continuity, as Sabrina had previously shown her horse riding skills in the episode that took place on a dude ranch in season 2.

One of the Angels' main tasks is to find out where the original Perdition was stashed, along with proving the conspiracy without getting themselves killed. Sabrina showcases some really skillful riding and it was obvious in several sequences that Kate Jackson did her own horseback shots. This is one of the more physical episodes for Sabrina as she gets into a fight with a male stable hand, and is attacked with a shovel by another. Kelly is much more gentile, digging dirt on Hedison's character by playing a socialite. And Bosley and Kris wear cowboy outfits, as of course they're rich people from Texas.

Overall this was an enjoyable adventure shot mostly at an actual racetrack.
