Avery Schreiber as Miklos Negolescu
kevinolzak16 July 2016
"Play Gypsy" features veteran comedian Avery Schreiber, former partner with Jack Burns, as the gypsy Miklos Negolescu (one return appearance in "The Misfortune Teller"), who has traveled 1200 miles to see his oldest and dearest friend, Ed Brown: "I said he was my best friend, I never said I knew what he looked like!" Ed doesn't recognize him, until he reminds The Man about his father Sasha in Philadelphia, who once saved Ed from a dire predicament. Chico knows all too well about welching on a debt to a gypsy, which might result in a curse being placed upon the unlucky one: "did he save your skin? Well he should have ironed it before he gave it back to you!" With Sasha lifting up a burning truck to save Ed from a fiery fate during the war, his son admits to being a failure as a gypsy, hoping that Ed can teach him to become a mechanic. Miklos' first customer is the local District Attorney (Bill McLean), a tad upset to have his engine throw up in his face! Chico comes up with a plan to give Miklos the confidence as a gypsy to return to his own profession.
