Bernice loves men who are built like a brick outhouse.

Warning: Spoilers
Perhaps that's why she hires a dancing bodybuilder for his birthday party, while Charlene hires a private investigator to find his real father. Bill Cobbs shows up, claiming to be his late father's best friend, but it's obvious as to what the truth is. The sweet souled Anthony is grateful for the mementos that Cobbs gives him until he discovers the truth and all of his resentments come out. Anthony's hurt is completely understandable, but once he gets over the anger, he decides to reach out for one more opportunity to bond with him. When the writers focus on touching subjects like this, they score big because you get to see the heart underneath the sometimes cliched characters. It's moments like this that you remember what a good actor Meshach Taylor was (a complete contrast to his performance as the loveable Hollywood in "Mannequin"), and he really was the heart and soul (along with Charlene) of the series, one that the women could depend on unconditionally in every single way. Too bad that Cobbs was never brought back though.

Okay episode but Anthony is clearly over 30

I like this episode but having this be Anthony's 30 birthday is weird. That means he was in his middle to late 20s during the previous seasons. Meschach Taylor who played Anthony was in his mid 40s when this was filmed. Saying it was his 40th birthday would be been a lot more believable.
